Just got a text from my mate who's a mentor at St Mary s university. RM doing a PGCE teacher training course there. Good lad apparently which most of us knew anyway.

Think we did until that injury. Seem to remember him scoring a cracker away at D&R...................

Unfortunate with reoccurring injuries, nice guy is Ross always had time for a chat and even remembered who I was when bumped into him at a game couple years ago.

So he got the Broomfield School gig without a teaching degree? Or is he leading the course @Simms? :confused: !

Lovely bloke and was a very promising youth team player who could have made the grade had he not suffered two very bad injuries. Excellent career move for him and has risen through the teaching ranks now. Will be earning a very decent wack as a head compared to playing non-league football which is where he may well have ended up after recovering from his injuries.

He was pretty good and looked very promising until he did his knee.

Think I saw him score in a 3-0 win over Chester where Alan Connell scored a beautiful lob.

Not checked this so my memory might be playing tricks!

Eaton House is a top school for children. To be appointed head teacher there is a remarkable achievement, especially given that footballers are given a bad name for intelligence. Well done Ross, and long may your upward climb continue.

It's just a shame that the snippet that appears in the above post suggests that Huw May (who may be outstanding in his own right) is still Head there.

Poor lad who was injury prone but really unlucky to break into the first team the season that he would have been partnered up front with anyone from Fola, Winhardt, Willock or Shipperley so maybe teaching was a better career

I’d forgotten about Willock. Unfortunately, I’ve remembered again.
