If it turns out Diouf is being brought in as a pre-emptive Schade replacement I’ll go full Mad Dog and swim across the Thames
i see Diouf’s role as intentionally complementary to Schade’s, since Kevin’s head is an ideal target for those crosses

Ji-Soo seems miles away from the first team, will a loan do him any good or should we look to let him go somewhere permanently?
I think he could leave permanently but for that to happen someone has got to be willing to pay for him.

Do we have any left. By my back of a fag packet calculations we’ve spent around £100 million if Diouf signs 😱😱
Depends on if you mean cashflow or SCR - the people who know far more than us will be very aware of our financial requirements so fret not.

Remember we spent very little (net) in 24, and had big net receipts last year (Mbeumo, Wissa, Norgaard, Frank & co.), so the three year spend 24-26 is actually very measured, esp. after Konsa, Ethan.
Remember also that we are now using SCR not PSR, not sure how this affects the 3 year rolling equation when they are calculated differently but there are people who are paid very good money to know the answer...

Leverkusen would undeniably be a step down with us currently wearing the "best of the rest" status in the prem. And the Newcastle Saudi project has been an absolute disaster that's seemingly only getting worse. They can offer big wages, though, that's the only real pull.

But I don't see him wanting to go there personally
Newcastle aren't spending the 70m it'll take to prise him away

It could well cost us a new contract for him though 👀

Would ‘strong interest’ still be the case after a conversation with Phil?

Latest from Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas:

Hull City are interested in Fabio Carvalho but Brentford want the midfielder to stay at the club.

Carvalho has returned from an ACL injury this summer and Brentford are excited to have him back in the squad.

He did not make the bench for Brentford in their opening-day win over Tottenham as he continues to build his fitness, after playing for the U21s the previous week.

Can see Fabio going. Can't see how he gets game time ahead of Matty, Mikel etc

Given how desperate Hull are for squad upgrades, I reckon there's a good chance of a profit on Carvalho. Wouldn't be a bad thing given how his career has panned out to date for us - struggled for minutes then an awful injury.

Fabio to hull on a loan with no buy option works for me, it's our most stacked position and it's a good way to blood him in to the prem with regular minutes at a club he knows. Wouldn't want a buy option unless the price was absurdly high, I've still got hope he could be a big player for us. His attacking talent in the flashes he's been able to show us is evident

I think there are two game scenarios for which Fabio would be ideal. Firstly if we are facing a low block defending team as a very attacking number 10, secondly if we are chasing a game and we play him as a second striker paired with Thiago or Wilson. Those situations plus game time in cup games would mean I would like to keep him in the squad this season.

I wonder if Hull City has conveyed this interest to our loan manager?

Personally, I'd like Fábio to be kept in our squad, we don't have a player with his attributes. I think, once the v1.0 match 16 is up to speed and Keith is comfortable, we'll start to develop a v1.1 alternative version that has a different playing style/formation to give us an unpredictable alternative. Fábio will be one of the attacking players in that.

Id loan fabio to West ham with neghona too. Needs period of playing time after so much injuries

If he’s going I’d rather he went to Hull than West Ham.

He’s already proven in the championship, it’s time to step up and prove he can do it in the top flight.

I’d be very Sad to see Schade leave now as believe he’s in for a good season. Looks sharp in pre season. Can’t see it happening unless big offer arrives anyway ..
And tbf, some of our fans seem to underestimate his impact here too. Fast as you like, great in the air, defends like his life depends on it but doesn't smile much. He is SO important to us this season.

You could say that if it was some doubt about the outcome, but it is realistically a delayed permanent deal.
Like Elliot to Villa you mean? Unless you’ve seen the terms

It’s also not unusual for loans between teams in same divisions

I’d loan players to all the promoted clubs. Good experience for our players, and can’t play in the games against us - so hurts every other side but us. Easy win.

I haven't of course, but would imagine that was an OPTION to buy not an OBLIGATION to buy
No it was an obligation based on an amount of appearances.

Additional caveats can be added, do you think we would have loaned our first choice keeper to Arsenal without a done and dusted sale agreed at the end?
Yes, which is why every obligation to buy will have caveats. Meaning Marmoush loan too.

... but he's not on loan to Brentford.
