England v Pakistan Test Series (Aug and Sep)

[Untouchable]

Pakistan 68-4, still trailing by 170.

This will be all over today.

[Gawain]

Pakistan 68-4, still trailing by 170.

This will be all over today.

I have a ticket for Lords next week. Thankfully it's for Friday/2nd Day, so I'm hopeful that there'll still be play.

Weather permitting, of course.

[Untouchable]

Pakistan 68-4, still trailing by 170.

This will be all over today.

Make that 76-6.

This will be done by tea.

[Untouchable]

England win by an innings and 103 runs.

[Judio1999]

Pakistan 171 in 48.1
and
Pakistan 135 in 37.3

So they couldn't bat for one day !!! Just 85.4 overs

[SpiderBee]

Waste of time.

[Freebee]

Superb start for the new regime

[Gazza Bee]

A win is a win but Pakistans away record is shocking and their record in England equally so - its a start but far tougher tests await this winter.

[Les Beeavinu]

Lots of rain about, overcast conditions, Lord's pitch - 2 day test incoming?

[Untouchable]

Pakistan won the toss and will bowl first.

[Gazza Bee]

228-8 - if the previous test at Lords this summer is an indicator then 250 is a good score

[JollyOllie]

I am a bit disappointed with England today. They wasted a few wickets needlessly, didn't build a big enough lead. Tomorrow Pakistan will bowl them out and take the lead apart pretty easily.

For what it's worth, I reckon England will get a lead of 100ish on first innings.....

[Jam Jar]

England pretty much have this sewn up. 290 is decent. I dont see this Pakistan side being able to.score 200

[Garybaldbee]

Watching Archer side on today from the Grandstand and he's blisteringly fast in this spell.

[TW1Bee]

Saturdays at a test match used to be the highlights of test series, now you barely get any play on them and it looks like this one's going the way of the last . Must be a worry for the ECB with lost revenue although I'm not sure, maybe start tests on Friday instead at least there's a chance you'll get a full weekend's play.

[ChesilB]

Mark Wood is very funny.

[badgerbee]

105/7

Robinson 3 for 8 off 11 overs!!!

[badgerbee]

Make that 4 for 8!!!

[stevil]

All a bit meek from Pakistan. Almost willing them to put up more of a fight.

[Jam Jar]

Pakistan are pathetic beyond belief a shambles of a side they have 4 genuine no 11 batters

[HMDBFC]

Pakistan - very poor side in these conditions

[badgerbee]

I was miles out.....

Lottery numbers tomorrow please?

[SpiderBee]

110 all out. Grim stuff

[HMDBFC]

Ben Duckett - a complete plonker.

"100" mentality...

Idiot

[Les Beeavinu]

The umpires have had a terrible match so far.

[Freebee]

The umpires have had a terrible match so far.

Complete opposite of the 1st Test.

[stevil]

The umpires have had a terrible match so far.

Ironic that a man called Reiffel steadfastly refuses to pull the trigger.

[Gazza Bee]

261 lead - this game is done IMHO Get 100 more and it is definitely done...

[Banana]

300 has only been chased once at Lords. Second highest 4th innings chase is 282.

So you’re right, this is done.

[TW3Bee]

Almost worth England declaring now and letting Pakistan facing Archer in these conditions.

[Banana]

Yes, another 25-30 runs and that should be that.

[Hippobee]

Almost worth England declaring now and letting Pakistan facing Archer in these conditions.

Don't see the point. The weather is really poor, and I wouldn't expect to get many overs in.

Weather a bit better tomorrow and 2 whole days to bowl them out.

[Delbee]

Almost worth England declaring now and letting Pakistan facing Archer in these conditions.

Umpires might not like Archers pace with the light issue

[CTBee]

Good knock by Lawrence

[Gazza Bee]

Declare now - they are not chasing 360 on this pitch, need to maximise the overs with the rain forecast

[Les Beeavinu]

They lost pretty much all day yesterday, why can't they be playing now in these perfect conditions? No good adding time on at the end of the day, umpires more likely to take them off for bad light

[Beecareful]

If advertised as 11am start it should be that timee given trains, parking etc as well as staff being hired from agencies for (say) 9am arrival.

If it was a big name rock gig they rarely start on time!!! At least first ball bang on 11am.

[Gazza Bee]

Nominal 389 to win but only rain saves Pakistan now realistically

[badgerbee]

Lots of complaints that they could have played for about another 45 mins yesterday evening until 7:30, as the weather was fine.
If that had happened, they'd have got the minimum number of overs in required for no refund. With 90% of the crowd having already gone home.
As it was, there will be a 50% refund.

If I'd had a ticket for yesterday, I'd have been well pissed off if they came on late in the day and bowled a few overs that meant no refund. Particularly as I would have been in the pub by then!!!

7 for 2 btw....

What did he do that for

[longtimeagobee]

A drastic move

England v Pakistan: Tourists drop seven players, call up seven and release coach Sarfaraz Ahmed

Pakistan respond to their series defeat by England by taking the extraordinary step of dropping seven players, calling up five uncapped players and releasing their head coach.

Madness.

[Gazza Bee]

Well that's 3 nil then

[longtimeagobee]

Looks that way, 26-4.

[Nada Bee]

Ollie Robison 101 wickets @19 doesnt get talked about enough.
