All different types of midfields but now they’ve signed Tonali and fernandes and still having Maddison, Archie Gray and saying Bergval isn’t for sale and still part of the plans, surely this opens the door for Sarr to leave.

They have three excellent midfielders surplus to requirements any of whom I’d be delighted if we signed
If they are so excellent why did Tottenham teeter on the brink last season?

The whole culture of the club is the problem, it doesn't mean there aren't good individuals there who aren't able to make an impact.

There are too many well run clubs in the Prem now that those who operate more chaotically are being dragged downwards.

If there’s any truth in our interest, I’m not sure where we’d play him. I think we’ve got enough utility midfielders, so any recruit would need to be for a specific role.

It’s a bit of an odd one as, like many Spurs players last season including Archie Gray, he was played (not that many times) in a number of different roles, although all central midfield – attacking, middle and defensive!

Feels unlikely we’d spend big on Sarr if we’ve just invested heavily in Sangare - though may just be us being opportunistic if Spurs lower their price.

Pape Matar Sarr (Mid, Spurs to Juventus on loan, 23)

..... or perhaps as insurance against the Sangare deal :whoosh:if we are getting a bit twitchy, as its dragging on :ROFLMAO:

Pape Matar Sarr (Mid, Spurs to Juventus on loan, 23)

I agree that Sangare is the guy and him joining makes Sarr less likely, but I wouldn’t turn down Sarr if the fee was right. Only 23, there’s a lot of development still there and I’d back us to unlock that.

It's probably recycled old news from when we were talking to a few clubs about a CM, it sounds like Spurs were the ones trying to push him onto us

Might be one to come back to if someone comes along to take Jensen off into the sunset with our best wishes given it's the last year of his contract

Very different players though, no?
Yes different skillsets and sarr can play as a 6 8 or 10
Will be a good midfield next season with these 2 in the engine room and damsgaard.👍

How is a midfielder who can play as a 6 or 8 a different skillset to a midfielder who can play as a 6 or a 8? Anyway, we're not signing him.

Sarr is better as a 8 were Sanger’s is more of a 6 yes both can play both roles.
Sarr is better in transitions we’re sangara is better defensively.
They will complement each other really well
Giving us a great midfield next season.
With dams as a number 10.
Looking forward to seeing these 3 next season.

I’d like to see the statistical analyses supporting your assertions.

Stats say sarr is slightly more carries and has a very slightly higher forward pass completion (irrelevant given his forward pass volume is half of Sangarés), that aside he basically is a worse midfielder in every way

No reflection on Sangare, but it has to be a lot easier to dominate and shine in Ligue 1 than it is in the PL. Esp when Sangare was playing in a successful, stable team while Sarr was having to cope in a hopeless team under three (very) different managers.

My view on Sarr is that he's a bit like Frank The Tank, only PL standard, rather than Frank's Championship level. While not 24 y.o. until next month, he's already got over 100 PL games under his belt. If De Zerbi can't get a tune out of him, or doesn't like him, I suspect he could still thrive at a well-run club like eg Bees, Bournemouth, Brighton etc.

But as the title says, "Weak Rumour".
