I feel like a high potential 8/cdm for post Jensen and extra rotation option for sangare would be useful? Plus one of my greatest pleasures in football is schadenfreude at Spurs, so for that reason it's a win-win. He's 20, and has been on loan at a relegation-threatened premier league club -- ought to have toughened him up

I'd say yes. It's a tough area of the pitch and we already have players recovering from major injuries there plus another having a condition managed.

Seems super unlikely anyway. We’ve spent £100m this window almost, and I’d imagine LW is probably next highest up our list of targets. I’m sure we love Gray still and wished he’d signed but he’s not exactly pushed on as Spurs would have liked and they’d want more than what they paid I’d imagine.

I don't have that insight. But if I were perfect at reading between the lines I would say that we are surprised to be linked.

He isn’t a right back or certainly not a right back as that position is played today but can see a quality footballer and definitely could be a high quality midfielder , there is no way at present he is playing there for Spurs and De Zerbi will replace him at right back when can. All highly unlikely but not impossible.

He is not good enough at the moment but that does not mean he does not have potential to develop with us. I doubt we sign him in this window.

If he is being played as a midfielder instead of RB, then would it be to replace someone like Jensen who is entering last year of contract.
We always plan ahead, try get in season before etc.
