Question is whether the contact took him down or if he felt the contact and chose to go down. On balance I don’t think he’s riding that challenge and I think it’s a pen but I can also see why it wasn’t given. Refs have been told to give penalties only when they’re sure the contact caused the outcome, in this case the fall, to avoid some of the softer ones we’ve seen in recent years. Fine margins.

No. You get stepped on, you go down. You cannot avoid it. At first I was with you, but he literally stepped on his foot. It’s the most stonecold penalty.
