The point of any Television Match Official or Video Assistant Referee is to correct any missed decisions or incorrect decisions. If it cannot be used to correct a poor decision, then what is it for? Salad?

They bossed the 2nd half and we lost control. Last season, and that Schade pen gets given. If that got given against us I wouldn't complain, but the theatrical fall didn't help us. I can see why VAR didn't overturn it.

Unbeaten after 2 games, but good for us to have a reality check - lots for Keith to be pleased about, but plenty to work on.

I really dont get this "he fell theatrically" or "he went down easily".
A foul is a foul whether a player goes down or stays on their feet.
Its up to the officials to give those fouls correctly, not just based on a players reaction

We struggled with the final ball today and with a little bit more composure we would've won that comfortably. Elland Road is a tough place to go so it'll prove to be a good point.

Even with all the momentum they only really created a couple of good chances. If that's how we approach every away game, we'll win more than we lose.

Thing is, though, start of last season we weren't fully fit and were struggling somewhat. Start of this season we don't look 100% yet, but have 4 points from 2 games.

I'd say we're looking good. But these are the games we need to be winning if we want to take the next step and qualify for Europe.

We played unbelievably well that first half...but we were away to a very good Leeds side who still restricted us to not much.

Of course they were going to grow into the game as it went on and that's exactly what happened. Every 5 mins they inched 5% more into the game.

It's a tricky test that we came away with a point from. I don't think we'll look back on that as a bad point.

A shame, but we had no divine right to get the points and we should be very encouraged by the performance.

Feel gutted to be honest after that first half domination but you always know that they can’t be as bad second half. So it proved. Such fine margins in the PL. I thought some of our passing wasn’t as precise early second half and we invited pressure when there was no need. Still, we held out. A more pleasing point for them than us but it’s a very solid start. Outstanding first half, we were so on top. Only disappointed we didn’t get a second and kill them off.

But if you don’t make your dominance count you pay for it in this league and so we have to settle for a point, and we nearly lost it with DCL narrow offside chance.

I agree, I thought we looked like a proper big club 1st half

Need to put a 90 min performance to move in those circles however.

We have taken a large step forward though and that has to be clear to everyone.

You have to give credit to opposition players and teams sometimes. They had strong depth off the bench, a manager who could change things positively tactically in the middle of the game and a group of players that battled and stuck with it. They’re not guff and we were away.

I think about Forest, Fulham, Brighton, Sunderland away last year and today and I say it’s an OK point and an even better performance.

Should have won the game - no side this season will go to Elland Road and boss a half like we did, just the final pass was slightly off or we were 1 on 1 2 or 3 times.

They were always going to have a spell where they dominated whilst it was 1-0 and they scored in that period.

Overall pleased - we look a serious side which can scare anyone so Europe is definitely achievable with this level of performance. I think we win that game 8 out of 10 times but something to learn from which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Love the last bit of your post , but in my view we did not struggle, it’s the EPL and incredibly competitive. It was toe to toe really at a very noisy Ellen’s Road.

When we didn’t it we started to tire, understandably given the level of aggression in our press, and they came into it. Then the goal and inevitable response from a Leeds team at home.

Frustrating as we could have all three points, but equally could have walked away with nothing. I’m taking away the first half levels that show what we can do, and with those we will genuinely give any side a tough game!

Always disappointing to lose a lead, but Leeds hung on well to keep us within sight, and probably did enough to nick a point in the end. At least Wilson didn't score.

On the 'penalty', Schade seemed to me to play for it a bit by leaving his leg behind. Sometimes it seems like he'd rather play for a foul than stay on his feet. I don't think VAR would have intervened whichever way the ref gave it on the pitch.

We made three perfectly good subs at the end but 15 minutes too late. It was not a perfectly good point. We should have had three. Cause Referee ignoring a definite penalty and late substitutes.

That was about three poor decisions away from us from being a real statement result ! We just lacked that little bit of quality to convert openings into high %chances which could have left us 2 or 3 up at half time which our play would have thoroughly deserved.
It was always going to be a different game in the second half although after a difficult opening 10 minutes it looked like we’d got our control back for a while but Leeds are full of fight and it was far more uncomfortable towards the end.
A point seems like a good result at the final whistle but overall we’ve got to be disappointed we didn’t win that .
Referee just seemed to react to whatever the crowd wanted , no penalty , 4 bookings for us and none for them sums him up really.

Thinking about it and having calmed down a bit, I think it's a fair assessement. My only gripe is that we looked a bit slow after the break, even hesitant. A couple of passes reaching where needed or a penalty on Schade given and we'd have been raving about today's performance.

It’s a very decent point at a tough away ground to go to.

This time last year we collapsed away at Sunderland and lost the game from 1-0 up. The difference in quality and maturity from then to now is night and day.

Could we have won the game? Yes, but I’m not too frustrated we haven’t, and very impressed with the performance for the first 60/70 mins.

If you’d have offered everyone on here 4 points from Spurs at home and Leeds away and cup progression away to Birmingham a few weeks ago you’d have done well to find someone who wouldn’t have taken it, and that’s before you even factor in how impressive our performances have been.
