Anyone who knows anything about football knows that is a penalty 100%. VARs reason for existence is to correct clear mistakes like that. Strange!!!Watching MOTD this morning.
Fek me thats a nailed on pen.
They've been instructed to let a lot more go this year and to only use VAR where absolutely necessary. We're going to see many more examples this season where the on field decision stays and in truth, I dont mind that at all. It was a penalty
Oh definitely! I didn't think Man United should have been awarded a penalty, as it looked to me like Cunha wasn't touched and the Ipswich just slid next to him. Ref gave it immediately. Caveat being I had one too many RattlersAgreed.
So long as they're consistent.
But they won't be.
That happens against us at Anfield, Old Trafford, The Etihad, The Emirates, Stamford Bridge, it'll be given as a penalty. 100%
In fact, even at the Gtech against those teams it would be given.
And actually pretty much any away ground we play at.
VAR soon intervened (and got it wrong) with Maguire, either have it or ditch it,simple.
All depends on whether you regard Maguireâs handball as intentional or not. VAR obviously didnât but the other viewpoint is certainly possible.According to the Laws of the game in that case VAR got it right.
That part of the Law is b***ocks though.
Doesn't it also depends on whether it is classed as leading directly to a goal? The fact it came off an Ipswich defender and then went in as was classed as an own goal? All depends on whether you regard Maguireâs handball as intentional or not. Yes.Doesn't it also depends on whether it is classed as leading directly to a goal? The fact it came off an Ipswich defender and then went in as was classed as an own goal?
Leads me to ask, where the line is drawn there. A deflected shot is OK, what about it if you handball it accidentally and then square it to someone with an open goal tap in is that also OK
I can answer that for himWeâre very good at football. This is going to be a very fun season.
Need to ask Mr Harrington how that game ended 4-0 to Brentford in yellow cards![]()
I can answer that for him
Because he was clearly influenced by the home crowd in the majority of his decisions
Wilson is a pr**k and will do anything to try get one over us, he obviously wasn't going to score (for once) so he resorted to simulation to get us a bookingIt was, but I would argue Wilson ran into Collins and collapsed holding his face. The ball was long dead, stupid decision.
Indeed Rodon caught Schade twice with nothing doneYep, how they didnt pick up at least 2 yellows in the first 20mins is beyond me.
I havevit nowâŠ..yeah
The ref called Rodon over and told him the next foul was a card. This was after two poor tackles. He should have had at least one yellow before that. Itâs a joke where they hide behind the excuse of it being too early in the game for a card. Rubbish. A yellow card shouldnât matter whatever time is on the clock. If he hadnât been injured thereâs a fair chance he would have walked anyway if the ref from Yorkshire had any balls.Yep, how they didnt pick up at least 2 yellows in the first 20mins is beyond me.

I wouldn't call them poor tackles Rodon had one thing on his mind and that was stop Schade by fair means or not in both cases and both were yellow cards all day long. The ref called Rodon over and told him the next foul was a card. As for the non penalty I shall say no more on the subject
I beg to differ Rodon should have walked via a red cardKarma got Rodon
Whether Schade goes down easily or not should have nothing to do with it. Each case should be judged on its own merits. Its not like they dont have the technology to see the incident from 10 different angles at 10 different speeds. But you cant beat an incompetent ref, backed up by an incompetent VAR process that is not fit for purpose. It was a pen for me too Clive; I was pretty confident VAR would intervene.
I assume that refs talk to each other and I wonder if they have Schade down as someone who is gravitationally challenged.
The other one was Aaronson (11) had a pop a few times in the first 15.I wouldn't call them poor tackles Rodon had one thing on his mind and that was stop Schade by fair means or not in both cases and both were yellow cards all day long.

They don't have the tag '' dirty Leeds'' for nothingThe other one was Aaronson (11) had a pop a few times in the first 15.
Are you surprised??? Sky love Leeds, the commentary today at times was sickening.
Cleveland does still exist as an area.Sorry to break it to you, but Cleveland doesnât exist. Heâs a Hartlepool fan.
Surely you arent suggesting that a certain bias would stop an official doing his job correctly and legitimately? It was a pen for me too Clive; I was pretty confident VAR would intervene.

Famously all northern teams like each other and have no rivalries of any kind100% penalty wondering if northern ref favouring northern team?
How do they define âabsolutely necessaryâ then? Perhaps itâs âwhere an obvious error has been made by the referee on a critical match incidentâ e.g. a penalty. Otherwise where would they intervene? They've been instructed to let a lot more go this year and to only use VAR where absolutely necessary. We're going to see many more examples this season where the on field decision stays and in truth, I dont mind that at all. Most hate VAR and can't have it both way

Okay. Now caught up this week's ref watch. General view is that Harrington got it wrong but VAR unable to overturn it!Cleveland does still exist as an area.
It was formerly a county for a few years at the end of the 20th century.
Then it was split between County Durham and Yorkshire.
Harrington was born in East Cleveland, which became part of Yorkshire.
Anyway, for whatever reason, ignoring his Yorkshire birth place and also being a Hartlepool fan, it was obvious to most on Saturday, that his decisions swayed towards favouring Leeds.
So if he referees at the G-Tech some time, and we are playing a âNorthern" team, weâll see how he does!
When itâs Manchester United at Old Trafford, Arsenal at the Emirates etc.How do they define âabsolutely necessaryâ then?
Jesus Christ. Iâm literally from the area youâre referring to and used to stand close-ish to him in the Town End at pools. I wouldnât trust him to referee Brentford v Hartlepool, but there is no affinity to Leeds, nor a northern conspiracy to promote Leeds above the Bees (see prior poster who makes this point clearer than I have, that Northern teams also have rivalries.). On this basis your claiming all London clubs have a close affinity for each other, which is clearly nonsense.Cleveland does still exist as an area.

As Iâve already made clear, I think the ref had a poor game yesterday and it was definitely a penalty, but claiming his âYorkshireâ bias had anything to do with it is utter b***ocks.Cleveland is about as far from Leeds as you can get while still being in Yorkshire. Itâs like calling people from Dorset Londoners.
