Summer 2026 Transfer Window - Other Clubs

Is it me or are Everton fans entitled tw*ts too? They were deep in the financial and league position mire a couple of seasons ago, escaped worse points deductions, chopping and changing managers, had directors advised to stay away from games for their own safety but survived. They got a manager who steadied the ship and bought the likes of Dibbling in (whether you rate him or not it was an investment in a young talent), moved into a fantastic state of the art stadium and now complaining the club aren’t investing in the team. Shouldn’t they stay grounded, thank their lucky stars they didn’t spiral out of business and be content with licking their wounds for a few seasons and doing what they can to consolidate?
They seem to relish being perpetual victims.

I think any set of fans who sell their joint first choice striker( Beto) and leave themselves with the hopeless Thierno Barry as their only striker until atleast January will be pretty cheesed off.

They also sold their best player in Ndiaye and needed a right back and signed someone who said he doesn't like playing there.

Vardy, Martial and Zaha are all available as free agents who can be signed outside transfer windows.

However, Chelsea have already claimed this season’s Stannah Starlift sponsorship opportunity with their signings earlier this summer.

Think they're entitled to be totally pissed off with their recruitment team. An absolute shambles.

It may not actually be simple incompetence (though it's probably that as well).

I saw this on an Everton website the other day:
"The Friedkin Group (TFG), the billionaire owners of Everton Football Club, are reportedly exploring the sale of a significant stake in the club to new investors."

Should that be the case, then TFG aren't going to want to spend their own money on transfers and contracts, but wait until the new investment actually comes in.

And should a "significant stake" merely be the prelude to a complete sell-off, then they certainly aren't going to spend any more than they absolutely have to.

This will probably be the first and only time I disagree with the assessment of opposition fans being insufferable.

I think Everton fans are absolutely entitled to feel the way they do.

They’ve just sold arguably their star man for £65m, in a market where Delap and Watkins, four years his senior, are worth £50m. They lined up a replacement for Beto, who turned it down because he was poorly treated. Can you imagine how bad if must’ve been for a player to turn down a Premier League move??

The fact they came so close to disaster, chopping and changing too, is exactly why they’re right to be furious.

Plus, this point about being entitled. Everton have been in the Premier League since it started. That will bring with it expectation. Already I’ve seen some bees fans say, our poor run of form (draws against good opposition by the way) cost us Europe, if Nunes doesn’t do well this season he has no chance. This after 5 years already.

Lastly, as Brentford fans we have nothing to complain about regarding the running of our club. NOTHING. How many fans around the world can say the same thing?
So it’s very easy for us to look at other fans and say they’re entitled.

That statement is from a fan base desperate to see their club run properly. You want entitled t**ts, go to Nottingham

Fair points and I particularly agree with your last two paragraphs where I would also add
Leeds.

Perhaps I have a bias because of past behaviours of their fanbase who kept directors of their club away from games because of threats to their safety and who thought they were mistreated with points deductions.

We are spoilt by having a club so well run and perhaps take for granted that we are part of a surprisingly small group in that regard.
