Brentford 1 (Janelt) Sunderland 1
Bramall is a disgrace.I would'nt want him reffing in Gunnersbury Park on a Sunday.Sunderland player feels contact. Sunderland player goes down. Referee buys it.
Pathetic all round.

I was on Anthony's side, thought he was great. Won throw in after throw in1-1 an ok result against a horrible to play and very effective team. Their throwing themselves on the ground and constantly playing the ref highly frustrating - but they were also good outside of that and certainly much better than us in the first half.
I questioned Hickey coming on but he kept them much quieter on their left wing than Kayode managed. Thought he did well.
Anthony didn't add much for me.
Poor performance from the referee.
Agree with all of this. Do think Sunderland defended very well. Not a tremendous amount of space or time for our wingers to operate in, and forcing quite a few half hearted crosses that failed to clear the first defender.I thought the second half was so improved vs the first half. KA nailed the subs to get us in the right mindset.
Schuster did very well in his PL debut against an intimidating force in Brobbey.
Our wings just cannot seem to get effective crosses in. Anthony/schade/ and sometimes KLP, just send in lazy balls from very wide.
Damsgaard had a lovely game and showed his old self.
Absolutely credit to them for shutting down our wings, but it felt a bit like insanity - “trying the same thing expecting different results”Agree with all of this. Nailed it. Completely lost control and the players are getting so frustrated.Ref has completely lost control of this (if he ever did in the first place).
Fully expecting us to have a player sent off after one of theirs dives and the ref makes another guess
All well and good not playing well didn’t deserve it etc etc but as with last season that game/ref may have just cost us Europe.
I agree with nearly all of that except questioning Hickey introduction. Kayode defended v poorly first half with just about every attack coming down that side. When up against a fast tricky opponent he needs to get much closer to his man instead of marking space.1-1 an ok result against a horrible to play and very effective team. Their throwing themselves on the ground and constantly playing the ref highly frustrating - but they were also good outside of that and certainly much better than us in the first half.

I would also add Kayode standing so far away from the Sunderland no. 10 in the first half it looked as though he’d thought f**k that he’s too good for me let him have it somebody else can deal with him.Damsgaard far too lightweight to play against a physical team like Sunderland.
Lewis Potter caught out for pen defending poorly, but otherwise was good.
Ref appalling.
Dango awful.
Anthony very good.
Tiago works so hard.
You don’t always “deserve” to win but sometimes you make it happen, with a stronger ref today I think we get 3 points. We didn’t deserve to win
Wtf refereeing performance did I just watch? When their player went down, I started laughing it was so bad. And then when I realised the ref gave it, I couldn't stop laughing at the stupidity of the decision. Now I'm just proper fecked off. Referee spoilt the game entirely.
First half we were rubbish.
Second half, much better.
Don't think that ref should ever be allowed to ref games again. I don't care for any opinion that disagrees with me. Watching it live, it was a terrible decision. Amongst many many many awful decisions.
You said it yourself. 'You make it happen.' We didn't make much happen. Sunderland created more chances. More shots, more shots on target and better xG. The ref is not the reason we failed to win. Lots of falling about, yes, but the big calls were correct. You don’t always “deserve” to win but sometimes you make it happen, with a stronger ref today I think we get 3 points.
Did we “ deserve” to go in at half time 0-0?
Now is not the time...pleasePersonally, I thought it was a penalty.
Me too. They aren’t often given so lack of consistency is frustrating but it looked like a foul to me.Personally, I thought it was a penalty.
Totally agree. I was too far away to judge it at the time but KLP is holding onto their player without even looking at the ball. He got away with exactly the same thing in one game last season when PGMOL highlighted it as a referee mistake. You just can't defend like that and I'm afraid that, despite all the great things he does, it's a consequence of the fact that he's not a natural defender.Seen a replay of the pen, can’t complain, I’d want a pen for it.
Soft, but the ball was going nowhere, put both arms around the attack. Was no need to do it...Personally, I thought it was a penalty.
Our game is built on chaos, constantly knocking on the door with support and pressure, winning 50/50s and continuing our attacks over and over we were not allowed to do that today the ref broke up every turnover with a foul. You said it yourself. 'You make it happen.' We didn't make much happen. Sunderland created more chances. More shots, more shots on target and better xG. The ref is not the reason we failed to win. Lots of falling about, yes, but the big calls were correct.
People really need to get over blaming refs when it doesn't go our way. It's like cry wolf - one time when a really awful performance costs us points, criticism is worthless, because we hear it all the time.
It's not the reason I agree but when you are trying to get control of a game and every small decision is given as a foul, it plays into the other teams hands.Of course the referee was very poor today with some baffling decisions. But that’s not the reason we didn’t win. Outfought and outplayed in the first half, lucky to go on level. Good subs at HT - Yarmo made all the difference and Anthony offered everything Dango didn’t. Sunderland were a lot better than I expected. A draw seems fair.
Don't agree about Anthony - thought he was a big improvement. Dango looked like his head wasn't right at all, and thought we massively improved when Jaiden came on.1-1 an ok result against a horrible to play and very effective team. Their throwing themselves on the ground and constantly playing the ref highly frustrating - but they were also good outside of that and certainly much better than us in the first half.

There’s too much pissing and moaning about refs in here. He was rubbish,
The referee kept blowing up for fouls that didn't exist. That's a fact. And didn't help us in the second half at all.... today wasnt about the ref...blame blame blame....sad...we simply weren't good enough to beat this Sunderland side....who really should have won this game...i really dislike victim mentality.
...I just don't like people who blame others and don't accept the truth. The referee kept blowing up for fouls that didn't exist. That's a fact. And didn't help us in the second half at all.
I'd say a draw was a fair result, but I do think the referee was well out of his depth and it affected the game.
I still don't think it was a pen too. If I'm wrong, fair enough. Overall, second half, i do think that we were largely the better side. First half though.....![]()
