Kim returned to the starting lineup today and played the full 90 mins in a 2-3 away win to keep Kaiserslautern's promotion hopes alive.

There don't appear to be any highlights of the game (yet) so if anyone happened to see it or @KLFan would grace us with his presence again, would be nice to hear how he performed after several months out.

Highlights are on YouTube, but they tell you little apart from showing that he was actually on the pitch…

Just looking more at that link I posted above, in the live text there are two more references to Kim.

One short clip just below a substitution on 56 mins where he gets done on the halfway line by the RW, beaten for pace and the keeper makes a good save to prevent a goal and some text 31 mins which says he made a big error in his own box that almost lead to a goal for the hosts.

So not great from what's been reported but hopefully this is just a bit of ring rust from being out for 3 months.

I read that! First I heard of it . I am sure that if it had been part of the loan agreement someone would have heard of it. No doubt t there would have been talk on GPG.

A permanent sale is likely if he’s not in Brentford’s plans. They could also loan him out again, but he’d need to sign a new deal at the club before that could happen. FT speculate that him remaining in Keith Andrews’ squad as an option hasn’t been ruled out yet.

I thought he looked decent enough in the handful of minutes he got for us.

And Frederick, and Stephenson, and Schuster of course. We are stacked with young defenders, not all of them will make it with us and I get the feeling that we may move Kim on.

Definitely going to be a challenge to keep everyone developing and happy (altho Stephenson's never played a minute of first team football, for anyone, so Kim's logically way ahead of him at least).

Even if we said Collins/Ajer/SVDB/Schuster won't play any cup games at all....you've still got Kim&Frederick&Arthur to fight for two spots!

Hard to see there not being at least another loan or two!

I see Frederick as maurading right back more. I suspect Kim will be off. He'll be pissed his career not taken off at Brentford and missing out on world cup

Arthur looks like a future superstar, we've just invested £15m+ in Schuster, neither of them are going anywhere. Frederick just signed a new 4 year contract.

Rumours that there was an option to buy Kim for Kaiserslautern if they'd got promoted.

He is playing first Team football on loan or is likely to be? Kind? We are a professional football club, and accordingly we will do what has the best outcome for the club. If it is in our best interest he will be sold.

Personally were I him I would prefer the security of being at a club where I could build a first team career, and in his case an International one.
But I expect you’re right. 😉

I just do think that it is possible to disagree with somebody’s opinion without “the tone” that sometimes permeates some posts.

Weirdly i had higher hopes that he would push the first team squad.

Didnt look out of place in the minutes he got last season, cant remember the game.

It is not a complete disaster as it gave Schuster his opportunity. He could have waited six months, or more on the Bench. Early days yes, he could however turn out to be an asset for Keith.
