Bring back the old days when holding was outlawed and you could tackle. It seems to be the reverse now.

You can't blame the Sunderland attacker for KLP having his arm wrapped around him throughout and pulling him back, if KLP had done a quick pull then faced him up it would have been fine, not a rugby tackle

To be fair it’s probably a reaction to the amount of holding and pulling in the modern game. Needs to be totally eradicated, it’s a scourge.

As the season goes on and patterns begin to emerge, I could very much imagine KLP starting at LW in the toughest games e.g. Big 6 away, with Diouf at LB and Schade RW. A sort of evolution of the old Brentford way of going 5-3-2 against those sides, which thankfully Keith realised last season had outgrown its purpose.

That is not blocking what he did he wasn't watching the ball and if he did it probably would have over both of them. He was grappling therefore fouling totally different to blocking

I thought he was blocking (by holding) and agree he was not looking at the ball, by holding the guy he was blocking his movement

Blocking is using your body to stop the player getting to the ball. Using your arms is fouling.

So you are saying when a player let's a ball run out for a goalkick by using his body to stop the player from getting to the it that's a foul. It's not it is called blocking

So Isidor should have been pulled up for the foul before KLP reacted to it then again that useless lump in charge saw very little wrong in what they were doing for the whole 90 minutes

He was at fault and the decision was the correct outcome. The winger was just smarter. KLP should have used his arms to block the winger not wrap them around him.

Quite agree, however, the Referee has to be even handed, what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Unfortunately many of our Referees fail to follow that maxim.
