Yep, Le Fée went for a carbon copy of last week, even with the run up and body shape.

As stated last week, Arsenal & Man City can run away with it and the rest play for 3rd. Some strike from Bruno Guimarães but very un-Sunderland like lack of closing down.
Le Fée! What a fairy.

I think the PL have decided just not to pretend VAR exists anymore. Unless in the case of criminal offences beyond a reasonable doubt.

This is an admission that VAR is a failure..
It looked very much as if Reinildo let go of Saka before he got into the box. Exactly the kind of scenario VAR should be made for. But... no review? Mental. 🤪

They would 100% have been a review, but because of the new PL VAR policy......it would not have been overturned unless a blind man standing over 200 miles away could see that they was a "clear and obvious" error.

VAR is dead in the PL.
Consistency of the application of laws in the is DEAD DEAD DEAD

That was one of the worst penalty decisions i have ever seen.
Ref "he was pulling him down, not facing the ball"
VAR "yeah i suppose so"
What VAR should have said is that the reason Konsa was facing the wrong way was because Ballard dragged him into that position by his shirt.
Sunderland are fast becoming a really scummy team with plenty of cheating

Watching this and seeing all the problems Brobbey is causing it shows how well Schuster did last week.
He does seem to cause a lot of problems...but nothing ever comes of it. A handful, but that's it. Sunderland are a well coached team, and we could learn a thing or two from Le Bris and his management of what isn't a very talented squad, outside of a few good players.

Yeah, f*** them

There was one moment in the second half three players dived during a scramble in the space of about 6-7 seconds. Hate them.

Another Howard Webb success story.

He really does need to f*** off.
Webb will no doubt say that everyone wanted fewer interventions and the game sped up. What everybody actually wants is correct decisions in big moments and if at times that leads to an intervention, that is what VAR is for. It's not just a nodding dog for the referee. That Arsenal penalty yesterday was exactly why VAR was brought in - the referee had one view of what was a difficult situation so needed that additional help but it seems that such is the ego of ProRef, they can't be seen to be changing decisions. Ludicrous that a second referee didn't intervene so if that's what we're going to get for the huge amount invested, ditch it and spend the money elsewhere.

Just had a quick look. Please correct if I’m wrong.

After game week 4 last season 9 of 40 games were drawn, just under 22.5%.
With three games still to go this season 14 out of 37 played so far have been drawn, so far 37%. If there are two more today and tomorrow it will be 40% of the 40 games.
Is this random? Or is this a calculation that goes into the big pot of the seasons outcome, this early. Hangover from the World Cup. 9 new managers. Biggest spend ever ? Fine margins?

I'd vote for random.

What I will say is you are right on the Sunderland element.

But don’t overlook the constant fouling and blocking that Arsenal commit on attacking and defending set plays.

They are the masters at it. A proper cheating group of moaners.

Their football at times doesn’t actually impress me. They are just effective. Been very lucky to have the wins they have so far.
