It’s a time of change in Scotland. This weekend saw Simon Fraser University (BC, Canada), win the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow…![]()
Sebastian Pocognoli: What awaits Belgian as new Scotland boss?
Shifting the playing style, maintaining qualification for major tournaments and refreshing the squad await the new Scotland boss.www.bbc.co.uk
Palace have been slow starters for a few years now, but this year, I'm not sure they've got the players or manager to haul themselves out of trouble.Think we have an early contender for first EPL manager to be sacked.
He just doesn't scream Head Coach does he.Think we have an early contender for first EPL manager to be sacked.
What time does the cockerelIs the clock ticking already at White Hart Lane?
You're probably right - certainly some disharmony there.I would say David Moyes is not long in his job. The owners have dubbed ladt season a ‘failure’ and now he is openly criticising the DOF.
Whether he is right or wrong it only ends one way. They want one of those young vibrant Spanish/French/German coaches not some old gnarled dour Scot.
They think last season was a failure???? Absolutely mental. Compare that with recent seasons. Not for the first time, thank god for Matthew and co.You're probably right - certainly some disharmony there.
They should just be careful what they wish for. Moyes has seen it all before at West Ham - shiny new stadium, money to spend, demand for Euro football and 'total' football.
Owners are stupid dubbing last season a failure, imo. Like us, they just missed European football. They were bottom 6 material before Moyes arrived, and massively improved last year. If they back him in the transfer market and give him 2 years, who knows?
Sadly, like 95% of owners, they want instant success. As Spurs are showing, just chucking money at things and changing managers guarantees nothing.
3 draws and 2 defeats against the teams in 1st and 3rd currently. Imagine having to support a team with such sh*t, reactive owners. Are Wycombe expected to get promoted this season with some massive clubs in that division?![]()
Wycombe Wanderers: Michael Duff sacked by League One club
Wycombe Wanderers sack Michael Duff and his assistant Alex Morris just five games into the League One season.www.bbc.co.uk
Darren Moore (ex-WBA and Wednesday manager) has been appointed England U20 manager. Not a bad gig to follow being sacked at Port Vale!
Not sure what happened to Ben Futcher (2023- ?)
Among the new arrivals is Brentford’s Jon-Paul Pittman, who joins Neil Ryan’s U16 staff as Assistant Coach. The 39-year-old is one of four coaches new to the England set-up, alongside Moore, Troy Archibald-Henville (U18 Assistant), Graeme Carrick (U17 Assistant) and Yilmaz Aksoy (U15 Goalkeeping Coach).
Pittman was a forward for Wycombe, Crawley and Grimsby before being forced to retire in 2019 with a patellar tendon injury and moved into coaching at Exeter City’s Academy before becoming Professional Development Phase Coach at Forest Green Rovers and then Assistant Head Coach of the U18s at Brentford.
Since 2025 he has been the club’s Individual Development Coach, working on player-specific programmes across the Professional Development Phase.
Pittman will be presenting on Brentford Academy’s approach to individual development on Day Two of TTG Live at Old Trafford on September 30th

Now U19s coach. I knew Ben when he was a YTS at Oldham, living with my then parents-in-law. Lovely bloke. Not sure what happened to Ben Futcher (2023- ?)
Just walked past him in Cheltenham he was deep in conversation on his phone.Maybe another club and another 3 year contract like his last 3 jobs all ending after 1 year.Expect he has a healthy bank account.3 draws and 2 defeats against the teams in 1st and 3rd currently. Imagine having to support a team with such sh*t, reactive owners. Are Wycombe expected to get promoted this season with some massive clubs in that division?
He’s got enough goodwill to cling on longer.Frank Lampard days are numbered , they were poor today
They will probably start the usual cycle of unremarkable foreign managers. He’s got enough goodwill to cling on longer.
Definitely gone by Christmas though. If they had any sense they’d sack him next Saturday and give someone new the extended international break to get settled.
The new Sam Allardyce.Time for Sean Dyche to return?
IIRC Dyche lives in the East Midlands and he’s got close(ish) geographical links with his son Max playing for Northampton Town.Time for Sean Dyche to return?
He, sensibly, won’t go anywhere that IMO.Thomas?
Still earning Spurs wage and topped up by BBC, why bother? He, sensibly, won’t go anywhere that IMO.
And after he sacks DF, he's got Grant McCann lined up for 2027/28, i.e. a few months after McCann has been sacked by Donny. No point wasting money on Recruitment Agencies, is there?Peterborough sack Luke Williams.
MacAnthony on the phone to Darren Ferguson as I type.
De Zerbi puts in his resignation letter in his post match interview ‘I have not spoken to the players after the match…..lacked fight …..blah blah’
Cue the next failure
I like DMac who is always complimentary about the Bees.MacAnthony on the phone to Darren Ferguson as I type
From what I saw on MOTD, he looked fairly resigned to defeat against Villa!De Zerbi puts in his resignation letter in his post match interview ‘I have not spoken to the players after the match…..lacked fight …..blah blah’

Not a good day for managers in Peterborough.

1 win (Blackburn!) and 6 league defeats to start the season.
At least we all now know where Jason Euell has ended up.
