BFC u21s in the EFL Trophy

Email back from the club

"I'm afraid we are not providing any tickets for this fixture. All tickets for home & away fans are going through Bromley only."

Not exactly encouraging interest in the fixture...
Will ring Bromley at lunchtime and ask if they are aware of this and where they suggest away fans buy. This is the seat map on their website for home fans

I am happy to stand with the home fans.

Rang Bromley and it's a clear as mud. The woman said they haven't discussed with Brentford and expected to hear from Brentford about requirements. I explained the email I'd sent.
She was sorry she couldn't help any more but suggested I either keep an eye on their website for updates, or ring back on Monday when her boss is back from holiday...

It's like dealing with amateurs, not just Bromley either. Pathetic all round. No excuse Brentford. If you are not going to treat the competition and fans that support the club with respect then why bother entering the Freight Rover (ask your grandparents New Brentford).

Looking at the stadium map and trying to make sense of the website, I reckon we’ll have the whole of the North Terrace and the corner section of the adjacent stand.

BFC u21s in the EFL Trophy

With the interest in this game on this thread it may be worth just having one row of seats. The ticket office would still make that hard work to buy tickets.

If you're happy to go in the home end, the George Wakeling is good for that level. Entrance is right round the far side of the ground by the South, but some decent beer on tap and you can roam the length of that all standing area, as needed

The page linked in post 301 suggests the north terrace won't be open at all for this game.

@BIAS any chance of getting some decent comms from the club over this. If they come back and say the club can't be arsed then fine, at least we will know.

BFC u21s in the EFL Trophy

I did have a thought that rebus was back working for the club again, and that he’s gone rogue and sabotaged the ticket selling process for this tournament.
What's that buzzing sound?
Oh it's just Mark shredding the last of our Bromley away allocation

I have just forwarded my email to BIAS to ask if they have any communications with the ticket office that could explain, or encourage them to put something on the website.

Some people want to lobby BIAS to tell the club not to enter the tournament at all though, so I could imagine it may not be a red hot issue from their perspective.

Tin pot Brentford again. Premier league on the pitch, ...
At least in the days of Winnie running the ticketing office you would have got some response, 'i'm on my lunch' or 'the computer says no'.

I went to the Bromley ticket office / club shop yesterday (working close by). Lady there tried hard to be helpful but couldn’t access tickets to sell in their away section on their system. She was surprised Brentford aren’t selling them. Took my number for their office manager (who wasn’t in) to call me back but they haven’t as yet.

I am sure you turn up buy a ticket for home end and just walk into the away

Don't think you can practically do that these day at Hayes Lane. By shutting off the North Stand they have effectively blocked access to the adjoining away section for this match. Saving money I guess

Its all a bit odd though as home tickets are selling quite well and the three sides that are open could almost be full by match day.

He's back from holiday on Monday I was told, assuming it's the same person

It is down to Brentford to keep us updated not a chap who works for a professional football cluv that decides to take a holiday when the football season is on. Maybe Brentford don't have enough competent staff. Never had these issues when Chapman was involved with the club helping with ticketing.

I didn't say it wasn't anyone's fault, I'm just relaying what I was told from a similar conversation with Bromley ticket office.

I know. You are helpful.

Guess we're just buying tickets in the home stand then 🤷‍♂️

I suppose the chap from Bromley is still showing off his holiday snaps and having a coffee. Not sure what Brentford's is?

So the club want to enter our kids into this comp.............. And then not be bothered about tickets for fans that want to go.

Couldn't make it up.

Part of the club's masterplan to to remove 'Old' Brentford. Remember the club was now formed at the dawn of the Premier League adventure.

I'm sure the many fans representative staff the club employs are all over it :sorted:

Surprised the ticket office are risking missing out on all those sweet sweet 1% transaction fees though.

you would have thought the extra 1% would have led to an increase in 1% extra customer satisfaction or contribute to the salary of the new ticket office member of staff, AI Bot.

Old Brentford shouldn't be attending this match
I'm surprised you are banging a nail into the dividing wedge between new and old Brentford. I'm guessing I have missed the issued BIAS statement calling for fans to boycott this game. The club must have received it as they are making it difficult. Time to stop the BIAS membership it seems. What a load of old tosh.

This is a particularly strange hill to die on…

BFC u21s in the EFL Trophy

This is nonsence. Old Brentford would have been all over a winnable away game enroute to Wembley.
I saw this and was hoping you had some ticket news. No doubt @BIAS will be giving the latest update about Bromleygate today.

... I've never been to Bromley to watch Brentford play...but from memory...I'm fairly certain the surrounding areas around MK Dons(new ground and old)and Crawley are relatively flat on the approach to their grounds... not a hill in sight to die on..... but I'm getting old so maybe my memory isn't as it was... all this old versus new Brentford malarkey is just so very boring 🥱

It is boring, wait till I start on the "old" 'old' Brentford, then you'll be in trouble. I think I will start bringing my rattle, that will wake up the South Stand oldies that glare at you when you shout out anything against the away team. Joking apart we are all Brentford and want to see our team when we can. What this highlights is yet more incompetence off the pitch at Brentford. Bromley are not much better (at least there fans are able to buy tickets), but then they are not long out of non-league. We have been there and by now our ticketing and comms should be Premier League, not EFL League 1 like at Bromley.

The clock is ticking:

Just had a call from Bromley.
I'm on a list, by all accounts ... another list !
The ticket I've got, that stand won't be open for the game. East stand.
Begs the questuon as to why they put those tickets on sale as available, when the stand is not going to be used.
Lady said I needed to call Brentford. I said, I think not, I got the ticket through you lot and Bromley.
She's calling me back in 5 minutes, supposedly

All these calls to Bromley about tickets they are probably sh*tting themselves believing a swarm of bees are coming and frantically phoning suppliers to get extra onions in

Must be a late decision by them, nothing at all in their comms previously that anything other than their (shared) North Stand is closed to home fans.

When someone quotes a time to you and when they are going to call back, you can always add an hour onto that.
So right now, no phone call back from them received.
I will ask them, if and when they call back.
