Which certainly happened at West Ham in the proper cup last season, although that gamble didn't pay off.

It's not a flaw, TAPs will only be awarded based on entry. We've generated the Barcodes on our system and sent a list to Reading to enable on their turnstiles

If they are able to do that then they will certainly be able to tell us who actually entered, which we can then reconcile.

I’ll be. I’ve been invited many times by my mate (Reading fan) to come see a game there but I had to politely decline as most of the game were at the same time with Brentford. Made him watch Brentford v West Ham at Gtech last season though 🤣

Not with Premier league or ex - premier league clubs as they have to have the facility to report to other clubs.

Some might have gambled on Reading not supplying the information.

To be honest if you are a normal supporter I cant see the value in doing this though. Its only Muff and possibly Fulham where there is a chance of difficulty getting a ticket but Ive always found one when I've wanted one.

Its the likes of the Liverpool touts who want the taps for our away end at their place, when they can sell on tickets for 100's that it will have any chance of paying off. Now the taps drop off they need to replace them.

I work for GWR and am nominally based at Newbury but as a mobile maintenance employee then I choose which of my 8 assigned stations that I visit on a daily basis.

I had to pop into Newbury today and was met by an ashen faced manager who had just been told by Reading FC that Brentford had sold 5000 tickets and that they were all coming by train into Reading Green Park 😹😹.

The trains into RGP are normally 2/3carriages holding around 300 passengers. He was flapping around trying to see what he could do but it’s already too late. I said don’t worry, we are not all going by train.

As an aside, RGP is one of the stations that I look after and I was given a signed Reading shirt 2026/7 vintage and asked to get a frame, get it into the frame and hang it in the ticket hall.

Even touching the shirt brought me out in a rash and the whole lot is still in my house waiting to go into the ticket hall wall.
