What ! Id lose 4-0 tonight if it means we win on Friday26 years this week(ish) [9 September 2000] since we lost 4-0 at Reading with Jamie Curet*n scoring a hat-trick. Know we've had the better of the results against them since but that one still stings for some reason. Nothing novel about wanting us to win, same for every game. However, really, really, really want to win this one.
Of course, 2 wins this week is the target but if the choice was having to lose one match, I'd prefer it was against Chelsea.
Apparently an article in The Independent from 2022 stated the average height of a Premier League centre back is around 6' 2" which I understand is Benji's height. Konsa and Guehi are only around 6' 0". So unless there has been a growth spurt in centre backs in last few years I would say he is tall enough.
I hope we rest Ajer. If his World Cup is included, then 2026 has been very good for him and his fitness. Murphy’s Law could bite back at any time though, and I’d hate for it to happen in a game where we should win, whether he plays or not.
Fine as long as you're not bothered if he pulls a muscle and we have Schuster and Fredrick/Ji Soo to face Chelsea
Surely it's pretty obvious that asking an injury-prone player to play 90 mins three times in six days is a bit different to asking him to train.
....from what I saw on Saturday...I'd actually prefer Schuster and Fredrick...to Ajer and Fredrick against the Chelsea...if it came to it... which it won't... but what I really would like to see tonight...is DO kickstart his season and head to the GTech on Friday with confidence... he's the one player who's been missing for us this season.
The intensity of our training is probably higher than a match against L1 opposition.

Start Fredrick and Ajer and then bring Schuster on for Ajer at HT so they both only play 45 imo. Things rarely that simple in reality though so I’m sure that won’t happen.

Probably pretty close to starting line up. Think though damsgaard will start just not sure where? Probably instead of nunes but not necessarily playing in that position.

He is listed at about the same height as Sepp this year: 187cm for Frederick vs 189cm for Sepp per FotMob.
I’d be pleased if he was in the squad, but he went off with injury in the u21 match vs Sunderland after 30 minutes and I haven’t seen any update since.
I strongly suspect that until he gets through a B game, he's not going to feature for the first team.
