Final Score Reading 1 Brentford 2 (Wilson, Carvalho)

I’m sorry how much was Diouff!? Work in progress I’d guess.

They were really tough to break down and will feel unlucky to be behind, but 2 pieces of premier league quality have killed them.

Hopefully they open up a bit more second half so we can get a few more goals

I thought he had one. Just doesn't look up for it to me.
Hear what you say, could have done better in some situations. Dont think Dams has been great either, but difficult game to judge players i think.

Delighted for Fabio. Been lively and always looking for the ball and that was a great run and lovely composed finish.
I think he was one of our better players first half.

Would probably put in Schuster for Diouf and move Rico out to LB. See how things go from there and make changed as needed with the front line.

With a full squad, it's way off being our first choice defence and they have Balcombe behind them. Not to mention the all changes elsewhere on the pitch in front of em.
Exactly some people give no thought to how many changes we have made with an eye to Friday.

The commentators are talking all about how Reading are "matching us" and have had as many shots as us...yet we've been in control, mainly, and have an xG double theirs...yes, they've been better than expected, but the commentator just reintroduced the second half by saying: "unexpectedly close...", and I think: what game am I watching, then?

The co-commentator is David Phillips, played for Coventry & Man City in the old first division, regularly scoring 30 yard screamers.

From where I’m sitting the goal Reading had disallowed looked harsh, ref gave it for a high boot, didn’t look like there was a Brentford player that close to him, haven’t seen a reply yet.

Sangaré looks like he hand the confidence knocked out of him by Sunderland, to me.
Yes I was speaking to my partner about this, he’s not looking like the free spirit he did v Spurs in the first game.

Perhaps a few things, lack of space which Spurs allowed him to run forward into, lack of Jensen in support, and or already being out from under the radar and heavily marked,

I want to see the attacking side of him, however he is basically 6 today

Yarmo ON Sangare OFF

Much as I like Rico, I’d prefer to see Rico off and Frederick on to partner Ajer, and Diouf at LB, so he’s that much closer to starting in the league. Don’t really see the point in playing him at CB.

I actually think we’re doing ok on the ball. Moving it quickly and more accurately and look better than we have for 3 of the previous 4 halves of football IMHO

They are are threat from set pieces and defend well when deep to be fair to them.

Amazing to see complaints. We are playing with only four of our starters from the weekend and are winning comfortably. We are deep enough to give folks rest. The "b" team is doing their job.

Let's go up 3-0 so we can rotate Ajer off.

... apparently, Reading have also made 8 changes from their last league match, and to remind you, they're 2 divisions below us, and they don't have Jamie Cureton, not even on the subs bench

I think the scoreline at H/T flatters us

Sangare was close but was turning away from the ball

Dango has been annoying me a bit lately.
I think he started well with us but lately he looks like he’s putting in less than 100% effort to me too often.
Agree.
Was hot-to-trot in Feb last season (Villa and Newcastle) but has been pretty poo since WHU in the cup.
So little end product and gives the ball away far too often.
Hope this jinx’s it 🤞

The problem in the first half was, while Henry was a left back playing left centre back we also had three left backs in front of him who didn't quite know who does what and to whom.

We look a little suspect defensively tonight. Their set plays are a problem for us.

Yup. I’m never a fan of square pegs round holes. Don’t particularly see the need tonight and would have thought we’d have more to gain with Diouf in his proper position. Hey ho.

We look rocky from set pieces, but I'm actually liking Rico in central defence. He has such a good defensive brain.

Why risk schuster as well now rather than Frederick, we’re screwed if one of Ajer or schuster gets injured in last 30
Schuster has played two matches. Why would we 'risk' either of them?
