Always good to win, no matter the opposition. Looked a little stilted in attack still and finishing was a bit wayward at times, but good to get some minutes in the legs and on to the next round.
Damsgaard looked lively, and pleased for Balcombe to get another game, and for Carvalho to score on his first start back.
That disallowed goal at the end was laughable, but refereeing was poor again.

Absolute w@nker of a referee,he certainly had some sympathy for Reading in the second half because he gave them some soft fouls and to disallow the late goal from us is a disgrace

Honestly, that was a bit of a sh*t show... We were sloppy, the ref was...incompetent, and it was just awful. But super glad to see Carvs score, amazing for him to get that time on the pitch, too, and Schuster to "score", too, that was some leap. Hickey in central mid was also good to see again. Overall, a lot of positives to take out of that.

Another terrible referee, Tom Nield. Disallowed a perfectly good goal for us, and in fairness one for them. My favourite moment was when he felt it necessary to run all the way over to the corner to check that Dams wasn't stealing a couple of inches on the corner - I don't think Mikkel could quite believe it, he was laughing his head off.

Although we didn’t play particularly well, we should remember that it could easily have been another 6-1. Balcombe had one block save, and they were dangerous on set play, particularly corners. Into next round!!

As I understand it Referees still start at ground roots, however, they are abused so much there that people are not doing it any more. So, end result poor Referees at the top?

It was Boston, we have a few players that are way off it by their own standards at the moment . Ajer, Kayode, Damsgaard (although was better here), KLP, Outtara, Thiago to name a few.
I also thought Diouff looked off the pace, probably down to lack of match fitness.
If we can put in a performance and get a point from the Chelsea game then we take the international break and look forward to Jensen, Collins and VDB coming back in,
People will say unbeaten, but anyone who’s actually being honest will see we don’t look quite right.

Couple of decent saves, flapped a bit on crosses but no 'protection' from the ref and was being pulled about. Distribution was ok. I don't think we'd want to rely on him in the Prem any time soon but this sort of game is fine.

They had a goal disallowed, so did we; result was about right. Remember, lower league clubs often raise their game against Premier League opposition in these cup games, so we’ve avoided a slip on a banana skin scenario. Into the hat for the next round - that’s all that matters. Safe journey home all!
