The ref last night made some very odd decisions. Disallowing their goal for a high boot was very harsh, our goal was even more of an odd decision to chalk off and then blows when Thiago is clean through

Thiago was offside which seemed correct. However the two disallowed goals were incorrect, none of our players even appealed for high boot and he's nowhere near connecting with our players when he makes contact. Likewise Schuster heads it cleanly in and then his follow through catches the back of the Reading players head which he can do nothing about.

Oh c'mon mate.... the Reading player only had eyes on the ball with a view to scoring...he wasnt interested in kicking Sangares head....imo the game of football is becoming increasingly sanitised...and although VAR wasnt involved last night...as KA alludes to in his interview...it is hugely impacting on refereeing decisions and their mindset across all of football... from grass roots upwards.

I agree with you but that isn’t what the referee needs to consider.

Any player who puts their boot that high risks an indirect free kick against them. It’s always been that way.

Yes, did our 2:2 home game vs Everton last season. From memory didn’t give the, what would have been soft, foul on Lewis-Potter in the NW corner from which Everton scored their first equaliser.
Discussion at the time was that Hallam is less inclined to give cheap free kicks and so it was frustrating how naive we were in trying to win them; like he was one of the typical Premier League refs.
