In readiness for the his second season in the PL, here is an update on Keith's all-time Premier League standings.
Keith now stands at the 138th position of the all-time PL table on 53 points. Couple early season wins and he'll overtake Keane, Lopetegui, Amorim, Brown and Eriksson. Will be worth seeing if Keith & Régis Le Bris continue their neck-by-neck point scoring this season.

With a decent haul of points in the opening few weeks of the season, Keith Andrews is now up to 130 in the all time PL Manager, in the points total. He now has our old friends of Steve Cooper & Scott Parker in his sights, along with Ossie Ardiles. Assuming it doesn't take him too many games to gain the 3/4 points to overhaul them, he'll have done it in a considerably lower game count.

That table seems unsure about whether he’s Irish or English!

Unless there's a disaster, should see him above "Big Ange" by the end of the season...having played far fewer games. lol is all.

I know it’s not easy avoiding repeating yourself in doing these interviews, but a lot of people seem to be ‘in a good place’. Sounds a bit like the sort of thing people say after someone’s died.

It's when he says they're in a better place that we need to start worrying...

I thought his Pre Chelsea match interview was excellent the ethos of the club and Keith makes me so proud to be a Brentford supporter
I agree.

Keith was very upbeat and sounded as though he was having a good week preparing for tomorrow night’s game. He seemed very engaged with the reporters and always respectful, which is to be expected. Some good questions put to him on various topics which he answered by offering concise information, all in a relaxed manner.

If I am to be hypercritical, he talked about having a sign in the boot room that refers to being at the ‘best place’ then later on, when talking about player care, he said that ‘slogans on walls are absolute nonsense’. Obviously, he was highlighting the difference between being empathetic towards the players and the static statement in a poster, but it isn’t anything to be really concerned about; just a point of note.

If he’s in a good place, then I’m sure the players/staff will be, too.

Definitely worth a watch.

Straight in for me from the generic News front page and clicking the link on there.

Wonder who he was looking up to the heavens to. Whoever they are, he's made them proud. Great meticulous and patient approach. A top 2nd half in ideas, drive and execution

I absolutely love the bones of him.

smart, funny, authoritative, down to earth, complete lack of bullshit, steeliness.

Never feel like he’s pulling the wool over my eyes or bluffing that I’m afraid I sometimes got with TF.

No cliches that likeable as he was , Dean Smith used to trot out, along with excuses (“the grass was too long at Elland Road”) or Warbs “do plan A better”, trying to think of a manager of ours I liked more, and I’m struggling

It was inspired giving him the gig. I thought it was madness at the time. How wrong I was.

I was the same, couldn’t understand how there weren’t much better qualified, experienced, and high profile coaches begging to be our manager (there probably were) so why were we taking a risk with unproven, and that’s why I’m not a senior football professional 😂

Another thing, media seem to love KA almost as much as we do!!!
Never hear a reporter say a bad word about him!!

And, once again, Martin O'Neill can f**k right off!!!
Because he engages properly, gives good copy/quotes, doesn’t seem to look down on them or treat them with disdain, because a) he’s a decent bloke and b) it’s counterproductive, unless they’re asinine or rude.

Yes there were, however, the Brentford model demands that any prospective Head Coach not only understands it, but fits the system, and signs up to it in every respect. That limits the field. I doubt that Phil Giles would agree that he was unproven. Andrews had a whole season interview working in that environment.

As we head into the international break there are still 3 winless clubs in the PL: Spurs, Fulham and Bournemouth.

2 of those have mangers that have joined since the end of last season. The other has been in post for less than 6 months.

Considering how we were written off by many at the start of last season, we can still say that we have never ended a match week in the bottom 3. We were a last minute Dango header away from qualifying for Europe and we now find ourselves in the Champions League places, our highest even position after 5 PL matches.

KA has done a fantastic job and the best is yet to come. I have no doubt he’s the head coach who’ll lead us into Europe for the first time and finally win some major silverware.

I’ve mentioned this before. My neighbour is a psychologist who has also worked with footballers, mainly Arsenal but also Birmingham whom he supports. He has known KA from age of 19 years old when he went Wolves. Even at that age he said there was something that stood out about how he conducted himself with his peers. He was Wolves youngest ever captain. When he was appointed Head Coach my neighbour came calling saying Brentford had just made one hell of an appointment. His man management and his ability to always find time to talk to his players and make them feel important is what stands him out as a coach. He speaks to KA on a regular basis, and has now adopted Brentford as his second club. Despite thrashing Birmingham he was full of praise and even phone KA and told him so.

I'd love to know the circumstances around appointing him as set piece coach, despite no experience in that role. I'm sure it's been said that we liked him as a person anyway but did we approach him, did he apply, was there other competition that maybe turned us down? Also the MK Dons application and why he didn't get that job. Seems a couple of massive sliding doors moments for him and us.

I have always wondered about that. When he got the set piece job PG said "He is someone we have known for a while and always had in mind for a role”. Somehow or another he must have made quite an impression for us to be looking for a way to give him a job when there are so many coaches out there.
