I think Pinnocks performance against Rennes shows he's still very capable, despite his age. It's common in football if a player isn't playing people over exaggerate their decline when the situation could also be that we had a couple of expensive, much younger CB's ahead of him. Pinnock could still start for plenty of teams in the league so he's always a good backup.

Arthur right now is 4th, perhaps even 5th choice of our fit CB's. Down to 6th when VDB is back. He needs to play and the championship is a great place to do that especially with some of the quality down there next season. It's a clear step up from the Scottish league

Goal Keeper? He was a central midfielder for us. He was a University Student, and a mate of Martin Allen’s son. He played for Brentford for about three seasons. There was some talk that when he arrived we could not afford his wages, and his father paid them.
Whatever Brentford gave him a start in football, and he went on the have a good career in the lower leagues.
He should look after Benj Authur for us.

I can't see why we'd have bought Schuster unless we expected him to be ahead of our other young CBs. Plus, I always thought Pinnock's decline has been massively exaggerated and think he'll probably start the season as third-choice CB. Putting all that together I'm not at all surprised by this loan. If he can play the bulk of the season's games in the Championship I'd say it's a win-win for everyone.

Nah, he was a goalkeeper in my son's first ever game.

He played most the game in goal against Gillingham when Masters sent off, did you miss the winking emoji?

I live half the year on the south coast and have a soft spot for Portsmouth - but not Saints or Bournemouth !

Remember seeing Kamara playing for Pompey thousands of years ago!

I think we see Fredrick more as a RB but he had a good loan until his injury and won rave reviews for his games for Nigeria. Wouldn’t be surprised if we considered him one season ahead.

Does he play RB for Nigeria? Thought he was primarily CB.

I think it was probably a tactical soon seeing as Portsmouth were 2-0 down at the time.

I can’t link to it for some reason, but Portsmouth newspaper saying stress fracture of the back and out until the new year, as reported by Radio Solent.
