Entertaining game. The young Bees dug in and battled well. Rose made some great saves. Bet the club will be all over it now. I hope they don’t thank the loyal fans who were in the know. No effort from the club.

I thought the Bees turnout was pretty good considering the Brentford comms team is handled by mice who cannot be bothered to put it on the clubs website or send out an email to everyone. How difficult is this really. They need to employ at least another 6 to the team. One to explain why it needs to be done, one to type it up, one to check it, one to upload, one to hit send and an intern to take the flack.

Looks like I'm the first one back. Fairly certain the Bromley stewards were just pretending to scan the tickets at the turnstile. All in all both BFC's come out of this looking absolutely non-league, no co-ordination between ticket offices, very good Brentford numbers in the ground considering neither club seemed to want us there and Brentford couldn't be bothered with the hassle of selling tickets.

Ground is still fairly non-league but it does appear they're working hard on improving it, you'd assume the North End that we were in is next for development. Shame they wouldn't let us stand on the small away section of their new East Terrace, if nothing else it would have saved some wear and tear on their crumbling North Terrace.

Thought Nunes played ok, better in the second half when we went a bit wider, first half we played very narrow and got nowhere. Looked some way off first team standards but equally found spaces at times where maybe our first team could have got the ball to him.

Really impressed with Rose, that double save was something special and his distribution was very good throughout. Impressed with Wheeler-Henry as well, very tricky with the ball, defended well, could have a good future with us.

Decent enough night out and 147th ground I've done #bteamboycott

Agree with the above. Nunes was anonymous when really he should look a cut above that level. Riley Owen was very good, and Reggie Rose made some decent stops, particularly in the second half. Shield took his goal well. Bromley were dominant for the first half, should've scored at least once. We looked short of natural striker all game, I thought.

121st team I have seen the Bees play against in a competitive match.

Tidy ground, better than Accrington Stanley and the old Oxford ground amongst others, with very friendly stewards and good parking with easy exit afterwards.

As someone said above, but for Matthew Benham this could have been our level!

Goalie Mr Rose (!) made several very good saves.

I suppose that's why Nunes hasn't been sent out on loan. The only competitive football he is likely to get for his development atm is with us.

I watched it only on TV but my observations are: the Brentford way of playing was certainly on show; any player transitioning to the first team squad will have little learning to do.

Riley Owen was impressive in the centre, always involved, and Rose made some excellent saves, plus put on a very Brentford 'keeper display overall. Contrary to some, I thought Nunes, while not looking a superstar, was always looking to be involved and carried the ball well up to the point of some aggressive football league no-nonsense defending. Milambo tried some neat tricks but is clearly still a long way off and Carvalho played the senior player role well.

Good on them for the result and a step towards progressing in the competition and their careers.

A fair summary of the game can be found here. Rose was my man of the match. An excellent display of goalkeeping. Other than that no-one really stood out in either a positive or negative way. Just good for the side to get a proper run out against a proper team.

Probably the most positive thing to come out of the match. Bromley put out a strong physical side who looked to put crosses into the box whenever they could. The young Bees stood up to this very well which bodes well for their future prospects whether with us or in the EFL.

Whatever you think of our participation in this competition it offers young players invaluable experience of senior football which you won’t get in under 21 leagues.

I think the result was all the more credible due to absence of our best attackers. Both Michael Boni and Theo Mawene missing. Not sure why, neither on International duty. Presumably injured but information from the club is limited on B team/U21s. Also Furo has recently turned out for U21 but of course is injured
