Yes he is a stiff beanpole, it’s beyond belief. I am no Alexander Arnold fan but surely he offers something going forward. To succeed at this level you need adaptable players who can change games- he’s crap

Ultimately did better than I expected after that first 10 mins or so.

Was a positive that we didn’t try and sit on our lead and, if Kane hadn’t slipped, would have been in a very strong position. The negative from the game was how poor our defending was, gifting Spain 2 of their 3 goals.

Gordon was MoM for me and I was impressed with Anderson and O’Reilly plus Bellingham ( but I wish he would stay on his feet more)

Not sure if it's just an English trait but there always seem to be a gap between expectation and reality, regardless of how good our current set of players are. I'd say we probably have the best team we've had in my (46 year) lifetime but the fact that we're a notch below the absolute best in the world isn't good enough for some people or most sections of the media.

As an aside, I would rank us a bit better than just "competent with a sprinkle of class" as I think there's only 2 sides in the world who are definitely better than us, but i get your point.

Our defence is awful, for 7-8 years, our defence has been awful, we need to stop developing inverted wingers and start developing defenders.

The penalty summed up VAR and the utter car crash that it is. First view at full speed looks like maybe a pen. 1st replay, um, maybe a penalty. Second angle, not so sure, Third angle, nope, never, total dive, never a pen. Gets referred to VAR, we are all thinking, are you sure, never a pen. Ref gets called over, and they only show him the first and second angle that look like a pen, but don't show the third angle which 100% proves it wasn't a pen. Why?

Kane takes pen, slips, does a double touch, 100% re take, nope, ref gives free kick to keeper.

You have as long as you want to look at the replays, how can you get such obvious stuff so spectacularly wrong, over and over.

...I disliked the long haired lover from Liverpool with a passion... whilst he was playing in England..not because he was a Scouser(some of them are British lest we forget)...but because he felt the need to simulate...he didn't have to do that... because he's a natural and talented footballer... playing for Barcelona... similar to Bellingham playing for Madrid... will be the making of him....take the boy out of Liverpool/Birmingham... wherever...and you'll find the man....which really doesn't say a lot or auger well for this country of ours...in footballing terms... for the next generation.

Crazy that the biggest positive watching that last night, was that it was a good game? We went after it, attacked with pace, we wanted it. Hardly ever see England play like that. Of course we were sloppy, but It was an enjoyable watch tbh.

I'd also suggest any goal with a vanishing low xG is probably not a result of a defensive error.

I thought due to the scum bag cheats scuffing the spot they changes it to give the attacker a second attempt if he slips, which would seem fair. Retaking if they accidentally slip on a cheats scuff mark and score, seems unfair.
