Mikkel Damsgaard

Mikkel Damsgaard

Maybe he prefers to shower at home. When I played Sunday league most preferred that although I felt it was a bit odd and not nice to drive home dirty

Never got that.

Wake up with hangover, somehow get yourself to football, run around in the wind, rain and mud for 90 mins, run the hangover off. Take the horrible dirty kit off, nice hot shower, feel all refreshed and clean ready for a pint of blackcurrent, a few sandwiches in the bar whilst we watch the Italian football, "gol lazio", or however it went . Great memories. I never understood that putting your clothes on over the filth and just feeling grubby and awful all afternoon.

Wait until you see the Brentford Fixtures 2026/27 thread, that has morphed into who we drew in the FA Cup 2nd and 3rd rounds 53 years ago.

International Break can't end soon enough although Damsgaard has made "WhoScored's Nations League Team of the Tournament (Rounds 1-4)"

Mikkel Damsgaard – Denmark (8.03)

Mikkel Damsgaard has been another standout performer for Denmark, scoring two goals.
He opened his Nations League account against Norway, scoring in a thrilling 3-2 defeat before playing an important creative role in Denmark's subsequent matches.
Against Wales, Damsgaard's delivery from set pieces contributed to both goals in a 2-0 victory, while he also struck the post with a long-range effort.
He was on the scoresheet again against Portugal, producing a composed right-footed finish from around 19 yards to briefly bring Denmark level.
Damsgaard has continued to operate as one of Denmark's main creative outlets alongside Rasmus Højlund and Gustav Isaksen, with his set-piece quality providing a crucial source of danger.
Despite Denmark suffering two defeats from their opening four matches, Damsgaard's two goals and creative contributions have made him one of the more influential attacking midfielders in the competition.

Never have I seen a worldie of a goal damned with such faint praise. Composed finish indeed. 🙄

Just caught a snippet of Andrew's press conference, said that Dasilva and Milambo were the only players definitely not available for tomorrow.
If that’s true – and I’m a tad sceptical about that as it wouldn’t be the first time injuries have been concealed – he’s in for surely his worst selection headache ever

Would be great and unexpected if Dams and Jensen are fit but don't see any need to change a selection that beat Chelsea 3-0, so no headache necessary!

Mikkel Damsgaard

I mean more in terms of who misses out from the squad entirely!
That's fair. If JDS and Milambo are the only absentees, by my reckoning we have 10 outfield players who didn't start against Chelsea who would expect to be in the squad. So two are going to be very miffed.
Five of the 10 are defenders so I think two of those would have to be omitted to create a balanced subs bench.

The way I read it didnt give me the impression that many of the others were match ready.

Certainly sounds as if they are all either available for tomorrow or not far off, with only Josh, Antoni and Kaye out for longer.
I thought from what read that they are all out injured (above and Collins, SvdB, Dams, Jensen and Ouattara) but in and around training and Nathan, Matty and Sepp are closer to a return. That would mean Mikkel and Dango are definitely not available for tomorrow. Maybe we see one or more of the other 3 on the bench?

Jumpers for goalposts, hmmm? Marvelous!

Yes. The press conference is not for telling the opposition all the players that won't be playing leaving them with a starting XI.

You were lucky to have a choice many of the places I played at only had a dirty sink, and cold water. They were the days late 50’s early 60’s when men were men!

Mikkel Damsgaard

A sink? Luxury .....
Yes, I should have added no one had a car in those day so the journey home was by bus , wet and muddy. Probably bleeding from a cut leg from nails sticking out of some thugs studs as previously mentioned. No doubt waiting in the rain in a bus queue. Those were the days.;)

Well you can add Furo, Outtara and probably Damsgaard, Collins, and Van Den Berg to that list. Plus I rould imagine that Jensen will only feature on the bench.
