Fair play, excellent advantage from John Brooks.
Yeah I know what you mean not that rousing
Just sounded a bit odd for a pre match song. But fair enough.... I guess.
It basically means that, play the game 40 times with exactly the same chances, 21 of those times they'd have 2 goals, 19 times they'd have oneVery favourable round of results were Cov to win this.
Don’t get xg btw! If a side score two goals - that is two actual, physical, real goals that the goalkeeper has to scoop out of the bottom of his goal - how can the xg count be 1.05? That’s just silly.
... wait, that's not right. Something like that though. It's late, I'll get back to you...It basically means that, play the game 40 times with exactly the same chances, 21 of those times they'd have 2 goals, 19 times they'd have one![]()
Well I don't think anyone had that in their super 6.Coventry 4-1 Newcastle
Regular away score for Newcastle this season isnt it??Well I don't think anyone had that in their super 6.
Reffing us on Saturday
Been decent tonight.
A bit harsh Les. It’s always unfair on Newcastle when Coventry were able to flex their financial muscle by signing Frank Onyeka and Dan Bentley. Will The Fish be on later to tell us how this is all the fault of SCR?
Yes, sorry. Silly me. I predict 4, btw.I wonder how Benham ever made any money. Makes you wonder who's wrong eh? you or him?
To the Newcastle fans in that corner/behind goal. Was Mfuni giving it back to his own fans?![]()
Fine, all comments banned till March! Its early days, lets talk after 30 games.
Pretty sure it happened around this time last season before Burnley dropped down after a reasonable start. When was the last time non of the promoted teams were in the bottom 3? Must be a while

Fixed it for you.Fulham, City, Spurs. Imagine the fun they'd have in the Championship.
As he's on loan from man city maybe it was something to do with that. Was Mfuni giving it back to his own fans?![]()
Hornicek cost them ~£25m from Braga and was signed to be their No. 1 keeper. Nick Pope was on the bench. Is the Newcastle GK a rookie, or a replacement (No.21)? Viewing last night’s Coventry goals, it struck me that all 4 were scored low, to his left. A substantial weakness, or just bad luck/positioning?
You can also make a reasonable arguement that one of the spots is already taken by one team awaiting a decision later this season!Pretty sure it happened around this time last season before Burnley dropped down after a reasonable start.

22 November to be precise; a point for West Ham against Bournemouth sent Burnley into the bottom 3 never to returnThank you, just looked it and you are spot on![]()
That is why its early days!22 November to be precise; a point for West Ham against Bournemouth sent Burnley into the bottom 3 never to return
I read a piece somewhere, specifically about this season and the number of teams with coach/player churn, that identified Arsenal, Brentford and Brighton as able to start the season well due to the ability both to minimise 180º turns in playing style and the introduction of new players and staff into a settled environment.Fu*ham, Spurts (sort of), Liverpool, Bournemouth and Newcastle all struggling to adjust to, and adapt for, a new Manager. Further emphasising the great start that KA made with us last season.
I think the reason he (and the defence ) is facing more shots is because they dont have Guimaraes and Toenail falling over in the midfield and being given cheap free kicks, or hacking down oppo players to halt attacks.Hornicek cost them ~£25m from Braga and was signed to be their No. 1 keeper. Nick Pope was on the bench.
Agree he didn’t look great and Newcastle have had some pastings already this season. He’s 4th on the (early days) Goals Prevented table that maybe says more about how poorly they defend in general.
Goals Prevented: Expected Goals on Target (xGOT) minus actual goals conceded (excluding own goals). A positive number indicates a goalkeeper saving (shot stopping) more than would be expected: Goals prevented - Premier League 2026/2027 stats
PS Suspect Kelleher’s save from McGinn (chance partly of his own making) has contributed significantly to his 1.0 rating.
Anyone, so long as we don’t get that McGinn again.Reffing us on Saturday
