Loyalty

Loyalty is fine to a point, but having experienced what we have in the last 1 and a bit seasons would you still want TF here, i dont think so. There comes a point when every manager goes past their shelf life, my guess is Thomas knew this and more importantly the club knew this. New blood, new ideas etc etc is often uderestimated imo.
I remember when Steve Perryman was with us, Just before he had a chance and left word was he was going for a more direct style which Phil Holder adopted during his tenure. Similarly I got the feeling Thomas was going to utilise Mikel D more and more whilst not be so defensively minded which was somewhat disappointingly hindered by injuries. He regularly talked about adding layers but his previous approach served us well and we will always grateful for that. Keith seems to have upped it a level with great effect by and large been more attacking and long may it continue. Just my take on it but I think Thomas tactics were still evolving . You couldn’t accuse him of being too defensive previously in the championship.

honestly, the mind of a football fan. Let’s cast our memories back…..

Now, whilst not true of the majority perhaps, myself included, there were numerous voices who after KA’s storming start made it know that they felt he was an improvement on TF. That Thomas had brought us as far as he could.

Cast your mind forward to his dismissal from Spurs. “Grass isn’t always greener”. “He had a brilliant set up here but gave it up”. “He knew the mess he was getting into”.

It’s easy to demand loyalty when you’re the ones moving forward. Are you honestly telling me there are some who would be upset, offended even, if Thomas was to attempt to get his managerial career back on track Despite the position we now find ourselves in, much of it down to what he achieved.

Would put a dampener on his achievements with us? What c**p
I wish Thomas every success as long as it’s not managing Putney, the pooperscoopers or Chelsea. If he takes charge of any of those, I will want him to lose every match. I wouldn’t want them to do well just because he’s the manager.

His last home game for us was against Fulham I think
When they beat us 3-2

I know football is football and loyalty doesn’t seem to exist these days, but it would be such a stupid decision if he were to do it.

As much as some will be neutral about it, the meaning behind what he’s achieved with us would go out the window during the first derby, and the noise in the Gtech would make that pretty clear.

It would make the Harlee Dean moment seem minuscule in comparison.
I feel a song coming on.... now what rhymes with Frank 🤔

AFC Richmond need a new Head Coach as Roy Kent has gone to Chelsea.
Burnley would be a good fit for Thomas, smaller club, rock bottom of the Championship and the only way would be up along with Ben Mee as his assistant and far enough away from Fulscum and Chelski

No way he is far better than that in my mind and would take serious offense in his mind tgat Burnley are now his level

Can't agree with that.

Burnley's problems all stem from when Mike Garlick sold the club to some Yanks who clearly know nothing about football, and are acting like "Pound shop Glazers" i.e. buying in then piling the debt onto the club itself.

But while eg Man U are a big enough cash machine to withstand that, Burnley most certainly aren't, especially when outside of the PL. So that when even Sean Dyche couldn't see a way of carrying on under the new lot, what hope could there be for an outsider like Thomas?

I'd say we're looking at another Wigan here, maybe even a Leicester - unmanageable.
