This season has been 80% poor.

And I get that people will post laughing emojis and the usual people will say I’m bed wetting or whatever, but this squad should be playing better than is.

I’ve just switched over to the Chelsea/ Liverpool game and the pace and energy is light years better.
At 3-1 down with minutes to go we’re playing triangles near the halfway line. It’s laughable.

We have one of the strongest plan A's in the league and absolutely no plan B. Once something goes wrong, we run around moping like we're hoping for something to happen on its own. Look at how we started the game vs how we played after conceding. Dominating display turned into nonstop mistakes and no sense of direction. Do that with any game where we concede or have a big absence (which is most games for any team) and you'll see the same. The minute we concede, we fall apart and look completely unable to pick ourselves up. We have the quality we need without a doubt, what we are seriously lacking is leadership. We don't pull ourselves together or fight back, we don't stay composed, the players just look at the ground in unison while KA does hand gestures on the touchline. We aren't the side that finds a 90th minute winner, we're the side that concedes one after being ahead earlier on. Sick of it.

Some games were designed to irritate the sh*t out of you.

Hit the post twice, off the line, over the bar, two great save by the keeper, then 5 mins of utter horse sh*t defending and you are 3.0 down.

Second half, so slow, so many sideways passes as you watch the time drift away.

Every long ball not contested by the forwards as Thiago backs in hoping the defender won’t jump for it, but guess what, they always have done and always will, they aren’t going to step back and let you have it for free.

Every time you touch their players a free kick is given and another 2 minutes tick by, so many soft free kicks.

You get one back and it takes 2 mins to start the game and the ref adds nothing on.

Just to rub salt in, I feel like I am watching it on Sunderland TV, so we ever get a pro Brentford pundit.

The only positive is Thiago getting one, should get him up and running now.

To my mind this is all tactics. The tactic of not picking your reserve keeper who has always been rubbish. Goalkeepers don’t need a rest and second string goalkeepers should just accept their place in the squad. He still gets paid thousands a week

Nothing wrong with the team set up, tactics and passages of play going forward. Stupid errors have crept into our game recently and you can’t do that at EPL level.

Agreed, unless a team comes to us we are pretty dire. Need to drill in a better possession based game plan.

Especially with us being a better team in the league now. It will be crucial to getting more result

Whilst I largely agree, at the same time we were too lackadaisical for much of the game.
With good luck and the keepers swapped we might have won….but it still would have been a limp performance.
Sunderland’s determination got what it deserved.
