Messy at times but will take the 3 points!

Great to see Thiago on the scoresheet again, and what a peach of a ball from Hickey in the build up 😮‍💨
Schades and Janelts balls were equally as impressive before Hickey got it.

Plenty of thoughts on the game but I seriously cannot understand the treatment Thiago receives.

Even the fouls he was given the referee was visibly hesitant to give them despite being very clear and arguably yellow-card worthy.

He gets very soft fouls given against him.
It's getting silly now, I wouldn't be surprised if the PGMOL or whatever the f**** they're called now had a meeting at the start of the season and had Thiago as a subject. He literally gets nothing now week after week it cannot be a coincidence.

Forest are absolutely awful
They've got a very solid back line and Mcatee and Gibbs-White in midfield are up there with the best of them. Their attack is Championship level at best though, which is utterly embarrassing given how much they've spent on it.

Forest are not a bad team. Their keeper and back 5 today were five out of six the same as the 2-0 defeat in 2024 when we could not break them down and they were flying high in the league. They've had another 75 games together since then.

Still, funny innit.

Maybe we should apologise for taking the 3 points but losing on xG 🎣

Defended brilliantly albeit against one of the most toothless teams I’ve seen come here. Really quite poor second half until Thiago scored if we’re being honest – lost every duel and couldn’t hang onto the ball. But who cares, Thiago’s back, the winning feeling’s back, the Bees are back. f*** Forest and f*** Marinakis.

Two bits of attacking quality won us the points in what as an attritional slog. I don’t think that I have seen a game in the prem where so many passes (and some of them really easy as well) were misplaced.

Forest are in trouble. CB 3 are solid but they looked vulnerable on the flanks, meh in midfield and toothless up front.

Would be so disappointed as a Forest fan watching that. Really quite poor but a lot of quality (at least on paper).

Tough game of attrition but we did very well in attacking them in the final third, an area they were clearly poor at the other end.

Our game management was very good all game.

A good and well deserved win

Loved Jaidon Anthony coming off the bench to get involved in that goal. And that pass to get it going. Wow. PlayStation football!

I thought Van Den Berg and Ajer had a good game at the back too. Schade could have been through twice without the cynical fouls on him. Really want him to score soon as well.

Thought they pressed us brilliantly for the most part, marked spaces and our players really well. They just have nothing up front, and we got that bit of luck on the opener. Thats a really good 3 points won today, imho.

A very tactical and physical game and both Keith Andrews and the players stood up to the challenge, even if it wasn’t all pretty.

Even in the early stages we were aggressive in duels and winning high turnovers. We also spotted openings and opportunities and acted on them quickly; for example Kellerher’s ball for the first goal and Hickey’s pass for the second. It was like a game of chess today, not exactly fluid, but we made all the right moves at all the right times.

Towards the end when they knew they were beaten and we had grown more confident, some of the liquid football started to come back out; Janelt, Hickey, VdB, Lewis-Potter etc. played some lovely stuff so we weren’t completely bereft of a spectacle.

We didn’t have total control for all periods of the match, but I don’t think they really created more than one big chance all game (Yates header). We struggled a little bit with Muñoz after HT and the subs took a some time to get into the pace of the game, but once they did, we went up a gear and three of the substitutes were involved in the buildup for the second goal which was pleasing.

I’m also really impressed with our discipline against a tough physical opponent, even when the refereeing went against us. We did not rack up silly bookings like we have in recent weeks, we didn’t give away dangerous set pieces very often and we came out without a Janelt suspension, which is massive for next week.

That was quite a scrap, not pretty at all, but it’s good to scribe a line under a wobbly few weeks and get another goal into Thiago’s boot. It’s also a bit of justice for Thiago, who was mauled by Milenkovic throughout the match, that his assailant has been credited for the first as an own goal (although a shame for Dango, who forced it). And that was a peach of a pass from Hickey to Anthony who laid it on for the second, the double substitution making the difference. A mighty relief all round, and reason to look ahead with more confidence than we might have done.

Maybe Forest aren't as good a pressing side as Sunderland or Hull...or maybe we're learning from our mistakes. Big improvement from the team. We played a lot more direct balls than against Sunderland in the cup. Think it paid off, even if they won the second ball more often than not due to numerical advantages. But we then pressed them, and got ourselves into the game that way. Seems to be a good solution, imo.

Also, KAs subs were good. Hickey was a bit...all over the place for the first few minutes, but really grew into the game as Forest started to chase harder. Like the versatility that brings us.

Great to see IT score, he deserved that. And disappointed to see Kayode yellowed when he was correct. Ditto KLP later, though he wasn't carded. I'm still flabbergasted at the officiating.

We essentially played 3-4-1-2 today

Kelleher
Kayode Ajer VdB
Ouattara Sangare Janelt Lewis-Potter
Jensen
Schade Thiago

Champions Arsenal struggled to beat them.
We did better than The Arse.
Enjoy the moment!!!

Good to get the win. Thought we played pretty well for parts of the first half and the last 15. The rest of it not so much and had Yates taken that easy header could have been different.

Nice to get some luck with the OG and a deflected 2nd which was our only shot on target.

Fantastic pass from KK and Hickey for our goals.

The ref is much closer to the action than me, but from where I was standing, some of his non-decisions were baffling, especially with regard to Thiago who gets nothing from start to finish. I’m glad he scored, it’ll cheer him up.

Very gutsy performance against probably the most physical side in the PL. So pleased for Igor getting a goal! Love beating those w ⚓️ s 💪🐝❤️

Ajer MotM, closely followed by VDB

Very poor match with very little quality on show. Delighted with the win. Forest need to freshen up their team. Some familiar faces are playing way below their former levels which is great to see.
For our part we were sloppy for much of the game. So pleased for Thiago. He deserved that. He worked and worked. Got no decisions and barely any decent service but he battled. Sheer determination in that second half brought him what he deserved.
Anthony did well when he came on and Ajer was his normal excellent self throughout. Plenty of effort on show all round. Pleased with a clean sheet after Wednesday. We will play much better and lose so I for one am delighted with those precious 3 points.

Don’t think there was much (if anything) between the teams to be honest. We got two lucky deflections for both goals. Scrappy with neither team putting much together in terms of good play. We ground it out though and 3 points are all that matters. Thiago was extremely poor again and has forgotten how to jump in any aerial dual.

Both goals came from us opening them up. We’ve made our own luck there.

Scrappy game but always is against them. Thought we battled and hustled all over the pitch. They’re a strange team. Some nice players but never felt they would score.

Some great performances from us. Sepp and Ajer, Janelt, Schade in particular. Subs at the right time helped us over the line.

It’s hard to jump with a Milenkovic on his back

Igor needs to sit and watch reruns of Toney playing for fouls. Mr.Muscle with your back to goal doesn't work with these refs. The defence definitely got to him today with the needling. Make that reruns with Toney and Maupay

Ay? They were absolutely sh*t. Three decent defenders and the rest were double bang average. That's why they're in the bottom three.
I think that is very harsh and a bit of an insult to our team who worked hard for a win in a physical battle. Gibbs White is very good as is McAtee. They are lacking confidence. It might have been very different if they had converted one of their half chances.

The Remembrance silence was observed immaculately by both sets of fans (aside from noises coming up from the concourse, where maybe they weren’t aware it was happening, it still being October), and the bugler did a fine job, playing the most poignant last note with exceptional delicacy.

Bugler certainly didn't better than last year 😬

Horrible game but there's no other way to beat these, who make no mistake are far from a bad team. Bit of luck involved but we managed the game superbly and the subs all contributed.
I thought we were prepared for a horrible game and the way they would attack us, we just needed to sit in and restrict then deep as much as possible while breaking away to get around their three centre backs. Florist had many more shots than us but the quality of them was awful, mostly from way outside our box, which probably was our intention. In that respect, I'd guess it was successful, if not a great watch and exceptionally frustrating for us fans.

The substitutions were well judged by Keith, although Hickey in midfield was a surprise, but his calmness and reading of the game was excellent... and that pass! We appeared to be managing the game increasingly better as it went on.

Both of our "goals" (courtesy of Milenkovic ) came from getting around their CBs – it doesn't get much better than that!

On the contrary I think Thiago wore them down and overcame them. He gets zero support from the ref and on days like today very little service from his mates. I thought he played very well.
