Brentford FC announced today that it is ready to submit a planning application for the proposed new ground. The club has spent the last few months preparing the detailed plans for a 20,000 seater stadium in Lionel Road South. These have included several public exhibitions and discussions with various interested parties as the project leaders prepare to put their ideas before Hounslow Council’s planning committee. Among the main concerns raised during these meetings have revolved around access, transportation, the lack of education and health facilities, permanent changes to the skyline of West London and the fact the site will include the development of hundreds of extra homes in blocks of flats. There have also been concerns over the fate of the club’s current home at Griffin Park which is to be sold off for housing.

Brian Burgess, Director of the team behind the project; Lionel Road Developments Limited, said: "We accept this is a challenging and complex application. For the past 8 months the project team has been working very hard and we have been engaging with a wide range of local residents and others. We believe we have done as much as we can to balance the concerns some of them have with our financial needs to raise the necessary funds to build a multi-purpose new stadium. Our application has three main objectives: first to secure the long term sustainability of Brentford Football Club; second to provide a new home for the Brentford FC Community Sports Trust charity and its Learning Zone and thirdly to create impetus and assistance in the wider regeneration of this part of Brentford. We believe these proposals will bring a wide range of community benefits to the local area and the borough."

The plans will be on show and members of the development team on hand to answer local residents’ questions, next Friday May 31 from 2.30pm – 6.30pm and Saturday June 1 from 10.30am-1.30pm. Both events will be held at Fountain Leisure Centre, Chiswick High Road, Brentford.

The 2012/13 season is at an end and Bees manager Uwe Rösler, sporting director Mark Warburton and owner Matthew Benham have been in discussions with players. Keeping the squad together will be the challenge over the summer, admitted Uwe following Bees' play-off final defeat. He said, "The challenge will be to keep the squad together. If we can do that, we will be fighting for promotion again next season. The owner came into the dressing room afterwards and found some encouraging words for me and the players for next season. My work will now start tomorrow morning to secure the players. I think the players will look back at the season, and what we have been through, and see that Brentford is a good place to be. We have taken this club to a new level, but that last step is always the hardest to take. However, it will be just the start of a new thing to come next year. My players will use it as a motivation. We will learn from the massive experience we have had this season. This team does not know how to give up. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and this team is hungry anyway in terms of motivation".

Tom Adeyemi - Has come to the end of his contract at Norwich City and Uwe has expressed a desire to sign him permanently.

Jake Bidwell - Has one year remaining on his Everton contract and Uwe is hopeful of signing him on loan for the third season in succession.

Marcello Trotta - Has two years remaining on his Fulham contract and is another player Uwe is hoping to retain on loan. However, Marcello has said, "I will go back to Fulham and see what happens. I will do my best and hopefully get some chances over there. They have followed me every week and they have been very happy with my progression. It is crucial that I play first-team football. I am a young player and I need to play, on loan or hopefully at Fulham. It is important for me to play and develop".

Sam Saunders - Out of contract after failing to make the number of starts required to trigger the automatic one-year extension to his deal. He is keen to extend his four-stay at the club and has said, "I have had a really good time here. I don’t know what’s going to happen now. I feel I’ve put myself at the back quite a lot this year and I’ve put the team first. Coming to 30 I want to be playing. I don’t need an assurance to play because no player deserves that. I felt at the beginning of the season I didn’t deserve to be playing because I wasn’t doing well enough. Since January I feel my performances have picked up. I’ve got a good relationship with the gaffer and Mark Warburton. We’ve always been honest with each other. I’ve loved it here. Everything here is set up for the Championship now. It’s exciting to be a part of it. Hopefully it’s all successful".

Harry Forrester - Is out of contract and has yet to sign fresh terms. Has been linked with moves to Championship sides Ipswich Town and Burnley. Bees will be entitled to compensation if Harry leaves because he is under 24. He has said, "I can’t say anything on my future yet. I’ve got a meeting with the owner and we’ll talk about that. Now is not the time. We’re devastated that we haven’t gone up. We’ll see what happens".

Antoine Gounet - Out of contract and has been meeting with Matthew Benham and Mark Warburton.

Harlee Dean - Has a year left on his contract and the club are understood to be keen to tie down his long-term future.

Adam Forshaw - Has a year left on his contract and the club are understood to be keen to tie down his long-term future.

Bradley Wright-Phillips - Has presumably returned to Charlton after his loan spell. Is out of contract and as of April did not know where he future lies.

Lee Hodson - Has presumably returned to Watford but is out of contract in the summer.

Six members of Bees’ successful Development Squad have been offered new terms. The club has also given ten members of the U16 squad scholarships and will keep two more players on extended schoolboy terms.

One year contracts - Josh Clarke (18, defender), Tyrell Miller-Rodney (19, midfielder)
One year contract extension - Antonio German (21, striker), Luke Norris (19, striker), Aaron Pierre (20, defender)
Two year contract extension - Charlie Adams (18, midfielder)

19 year old defender Sam Beale has been out injured for most of this season and has been invited back for pre-season training, when a decision will be made on his future. Jack Uttridge, who joined Bees from Histon on a short-term Academy contract last month, has been offered a one-year professional contract to join the club’s Development Squad.

Sam Griffiths and Leon Redwood have not been offered new contracts and they will leave Bees at the end of the season. Sam joined in 2011 and the 20-year-old has played 17 Professional Development League games this term, scoring one goal. Leon signed in the summer of 2012 after a successful trial. The 21-year-old left sided player made 15 Professional Development League appearances this season and scored three goals.

The club has not offered professional terms to four young players coming to the end of their scholarships. Defender Stefan Tomasevic, midfield players Max Herbert and Joe Maloney and striker Myles Hippolyte will all leave Brentford at the end of the season. Goalkeeper James Bransgrove has left the club and signed professional terms at Colchester United.

Ten players from the U16 squad will start two-year scholarships with Bees in the summer. Central defenders Audrius Laucys, Gradi Milenge and Daniel Webster, left back Makhosini Ryan Khayne, central midfield players James Ferry and Zain Westbrook, winger Tom Field, midfield player Herson Rodrigues Alves and strikers Seika Jatta and Courtney Senior will all join the club’s full-time youth ranks at the start of the 2013/14 season. Two more youngsters – Bradley Clayton and Jhonttan Castiblanco – will be retained on extended schoolboy forms for the 2013/14 season, making them available for the club’s Youth Team.

Brentford Academy Director Ose Aibangee said: “We have high hopes for this group of players. We have kept 12 players on from the Under-16 squad and given ten of them full-time scholarships. That is a high number compared to recent years at Brentford and shows the work being done in the Academy is starting to bear fruit. However, it is only if these players keep developing and get in to the First Team picture that we can be truly happy. We look forward to working with these young players over the next two years and helping them develop to be the best they can be”.

Paul Hayes has returned to the club after a loan stint at fellow League One side Crawley Town. Paul played eleven games (including nine starts) and scored two goals. He is available for the Bees’ playoff campaign.

Four youth players have also been out on loan and have returned to the club:

Defender Alfie Mawson was initially loaned to Conference South outfit Maidenhead United in December 2012 for a month and in February he was resigned on loan until the end of the season. Youth team defender Stefan Tomasevic has returned from work experience at Conference South side Hayes & Yeading United. Scholars Josh Clarke and Tyrell Miller-Rodney have returned from their work experience spell at newly-relegated Ryman Premier side Carshalton Athletic.

Bees midfielder Jake Reeves has signed a new two-year deal, which will tie him to the club until the summer of 2015.

Mark Warburton, Brentford Sporting Director, said, “We are delighted Jake has committed his future to the Club. He has come through the system at the Club and performed exceptionally in Development Squad games. He has also put in a number of strong performances for the First Team. He benefitted from his loan spell at AFC Wimbledon and showed he could cope with the aggression of League Two football. We are delighted with the way he trains and look forward to him being an important member of the First Team squad in the coming years”.

Bees boss Uwe Rösler said, “Jake has come through the youth ranks to be a full member of the First Team squad. He has already played a lot of games for us and is consistently on the substitute’s bench in an important part of the season. That shows how well he has done here over a period of time. There is more to come from him, he is still a very young player and has the potential to be even better. Jake is a player with a great attitude, good technical ability and understanding of the game. I look forward to working with him over the next few years”.

In other loan news, Bees striker Paul Hayes’ loan at fellow League One side Crawley Town has been extended until April 27, while Leicester City’s England U21 centre back Liam Moore has been recalled by the Foxes, as cover due to injuries.

Conference North side Histon have confirmed young defender Jack Uttridge has signed a one year youth deal with the Bees. The deal allows Jack to continue playing for the Stutes for the remainder of the season, if required. Histon assistant manager Brian Page told the club's official website, "This is a great opportunity for Jack and one he thoroughly deserves. He has been with us for a number of years now and I'm delighted that his hard work has paid off for him. It's great for the other lads to see him get his chance at a pro club and is a real advertisement for what we are doing here with regard to developing young players. Brentford have agreed to send a team down to play us in pre-season and I'm talking to them about one or two other things that they could help us with so it's a good deal for all concerned".

“I’m buzzing,” Jack has said. “I’ve been down at Brentford for four or five weeks, and am really looking forward to getting into it full time now. The whole year has helped me develop, it’s gone so quickly. We set out to have an FA Youth Cup run and we executed that. Having the memories of playing the likes of Bradford and Crawley, and then Liverpool coming here was brilliant. It put me in the shop window, but I enjoyed mostly being in and around the first team, having to grow up and stand on my own two feet. I remember when I first had Brian Page as coach at the academy. We used to do fitness tests in the hall at Hinchingbrooke and that’s when I knew he meant business because we were doing press-ups and tests literally until we dropped. When the scholars started that was when it was full on and it’s been great under him. He’s helped me massively.”

"I like the attitude at Brentford, it’s not too different to Histon. The way Histon is run is like a league club and when I went to Brentford I felt really comfortable. Mentally I’ve changed a lot but I’ve also changed physically. I’ve become more of an athlete and put more weight on as well and that’s helped me deal with men’s football. In the last six months I’ve changed more than in the whole scholarship scheme. I’m really excited about going to Brentford. I’m going to see it as a 12 months trial. I can’t let anything slip. I’ll keep plugging away and see what happens".

Bees frontman Paul Hayes has joined fellow League One side Crawley Town on loan until April 7th. He will provide cover for the Red Devils’ former Bees striker Billy Clarke, who is currently injured.

"Paul's just what we need at this stage of the season", Crawley boss Richie Barker said. "He will bring experience and hopefully goals for the next few weeks. We don't want to let the season fizzle out. We still feel we can push for the play-offs and for that we perhaps need that bit more experience up front. With Billy Clarke out injured, we are relying on two 20-year-olds and two teenagers at the moment, and although they have all played their part another option up there will we hope make a difference".

Hayes signed for Bees on a three year deal in August 2012 and has so far made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals.
