Thought Pickford was also excellent tonightThat was brutal. Exhausting just watching it. A real battle. Thought they all had 8/10s but special mentions to Bellingham and Konsa.
Wonder who's going to fill in at right back against Norway?
YEs. very good.Thought Pickford was also excellent tonight
England 4 Netherlands 1I wasn’t alive for 66 but this was the greatest tournament game ever played byincredible.
Lionhearts
Seriously who caresanyone know if o’reilly did dish the elbow out?
Obviously Quansah,. red card was given by VAR in slow motion.
I get it but just don’t recall the same emotion. Anyway, good to have the choice and hopeful we will better it in the next two weeksEngland 4 Netherlands 1
Generational contributionJordan Henderson injured in the celebrationscan’t make it ip
Altitude affects the voice more than I knewDid Kane say Hendo fell over and hurt his arm?
Got the pics?Jordan Henderson stretchered off? He’s going to miss the start of the season isn’t he…
strange day for bees at the wcJordan Henderson injured in the celebrations. can’t make it ip
It was just on the BBC coverage.Got the pics?
All those moaning about Tuchel’s changes and tactics at the end…. I mean what else are you supposed to do with 10 men at high altitude? Got it spot on. All heroes.
I was moaning.Who was moaning? I didn’t see any.
I’m all for tired cliches on a night like this.Inspired is the word which comes to mind but really tired clichés can't capture the enormity of a moment like what we've all just watched. Very special indeed.
You need these thenWho was moaning? I didn’t see any.
Quite a lot of graft involved to avoid playing RB against Norway, but fair play.
Quite incredible result - to go to Fortress Azteca and play with 10 men for 40 minutes (including injury time) and win is probably the best result I've seen under the circumstances.
Norway will be tough as we'll have to be better defensively than we have been but I actually think tonight was a harder game.
Must hope the oxygen is a precaution for the altitude, and not anything more serious…Leaving on a stretcher
Henderson stats
Minutes played 0
Yellow cards 1
Injuries 1
We were heroic for 40 minutes but let's not kid ourselves, we conceded 2 and were all over the place at the end of the 1st half so there is big room for improvement still.Could we ever be better defensively than we were tonight? If we are that good next week we won’t concede another goal
Pub quiz question? Who got a yellow card and broken arm without actually playing?!
anyone know if o’reilly did dish the elbow out?
You and I may be in a minority of two, but I'm beginning to think that perhaps this Tuchel character knows a bit about the game. All those moaning about Tuchel’s changes and tactics at the end…. I mean what else are you supposed to do with 10 men at high altitude? Got it spot on. All heroes.
Geographical pedant alert incoming.........No he didn’t, they were leaving for the water break and the cheating Mexican walked past him and elbowed him in the ribs, it was a complete reflex action of jumping and lifting his right arm up. No contact, ther bloke went down.
All South American football players are ****s and their refs are so used to it they just go along with it.
Yep we had no choice but to revert to a back 5 when we were playing with 10 men at altitude - players ran themselves into the groundYou and I may be in a minority of two, but I'm beginning to think that perhaps this Tuchel character knows a bit about the game.
Thought he came across well in his post match interview on the BBC too.Anthony Gordon by the way. Man of the match. Absolutely superb, all our lads ran themselves into the ground but he was another level
