Redhill (0)0 Broadbridge Heath (0) 1
.Doughty 90+1
Admission was free.
No programme.
£6 a pint.
£1.50 a tea/coffee.
Fish and Chip Van did well and i was told it was £9.00 fish and chips.

It was hot and dry watching the game so it must have been horrible to play in.
BBH had a mix of first teamers,U23s and U18s putting in a sterling performance on a dry,bobbly,uneven dog of a pitch.
A game of few chances,but BBH had the better of them and hit a bar,post and forced a good save from the Redhill keeper before a quality ball was sent over the keepers head/arm and onto Mason Doughtys head who guided the ball home via the crossbar.
Relief from myself and the fellow BBH supporters who could not wait for the final whistle so they could get to the local co op to buy an ice cream.
Season is up and running and where do i go Tuesday ?
Roffey v Whitehawk or Billingshurst v Chipstead.

Comfortable win for Gloucester in the end, with the Bristol keeper making a string of excellent saves
Nice evening for a game, had a few beers and feel it this morning
Gloucester have done all their transfer dealings early so was nice to see a team of actual players and not a load of trialists
No idea how well they will do, but aim must be the title

Shirt ripped off of a player in the first 30 seconds
Completely unrelated red card for a closed fist punch inside of 3 minutes
Ref injury late in the first half
Absolute madness of a game
I know you’re thinking “How can this be 2026-27 season if it was in May???” Well America is on the wrong calendar for soccer season until this current one ends in December, then they will align with everyone else and go August to May beginning August 2027

Last night ….Chertsey 2 Wealdstone 0…looked about 300ish (around 30 stones but no Raider 🧐🙄👀🫣)…. Great performance by the cherts beating a team 2 levels above and things are looking good for the new season with our new signings and keeping our best players…lump on for Chertsey to win the league 👍🥳🙏

Hampton home next on Saturday which will be another good test and plenty of 🐝 there too 💪

Should be an interesting league as it’s very open this season seeing as the 2 money teams went up 👍

Bit of a stroll for the Spammers to be honest.
Jarrod Bowen will piss all over the Championship if they manage to keep him.
£18 entry was a bit steep for a friendly but fancied doing it.
No idea how much my half time beer cost as it was bought for me.
Cornish Pasty from Tesco on the way home £1.25 with club card.

Disappointing Hayes and Yeading FA Trophy game has been switched from Jersey to Hayes in a few weeks as there are few spaces to Jersey on the plane and no hotel accomodation due to the battle of the flowers festival here in jersey…. Disappointing

Rainford ladies under 9s, junior mini tournament held in Wigan, granddaughter plays in goal.
Won one lost two but still somehow ended up in the knockout stages of the losers final.
Got through to the final(all on penalties)before being beaten 6-1.
£2:00 to get in, no bar but reasonably priced food and drink.
Lots of yummy, and not so yummy mummy’s,
Chaps a mix of supportive and gobshite dads.
Lots of talented and enthusiastic youngsters, one in particular is on man city’s books.
Very well run and enjoyable afternoon, fair play to the organizers who do a great job.

Great the Battle of Flowers is up and running in full again. Had its troubles over the last couple of years. Gets a lot of the Islanders together construction the floats. As you say also brings a lot of tourists in.

Don't know the attendance, food and beer was free for us ? Optimist Club run out the winners again. No wide boys in attendance.

Att. Looked to be about 300
No sign of the raider! About 15 gobby youths from both sides attempted to square up to each other in the first half but only once they saw the reassuring sight of two coppers sauntering across to stand between them.
All of the gobby youths disappeared at half time never to re-appear. The 5 police officers in attendance also disappeared. I suspect they two things were linked.
Wealdstone played far better, looked slick and well-organised and deserved to win.
Charlie Goode played for MK.
28° is too hot to watch football let alone play it. Very grateful for the breeze.
No idea on food or drink prices.
Great to be back watching (proper) live football again.

Entry - Free (played at a leisure centre in cov)
Att - about 50
No beer, no food, no chaps
Romaine Sawyers watch - played 60 minutes.

Watched 4 Brackley pre season games now, and things are slowly starting to come together.
This is a whole new squad, with only 2 players from last season. Signed another in the week, so thats 13 players at present. Only 2 weeks left till the opening game away at Telford. Need to register a squad of 18. Going to be an interesting season.

For a start I thought it ended 3-0 so I was not as alert as I should have been

First time I have been there. A newer ground (thirty fiveish years old) quite grand I suppose for the Western League

Very hard pitch. Fair result.

Lots of drumming.

Away fans - I saw three
Chaps - ha!
Ticket - £25
Beer - $13 a can

Orlando grind out a 1-0 win against conference topping in Antoine Griezmann’s home debut. Stadium was sweltering and there was a 75 minute delay due to lightning 9.9 miles away (the threshold is 10).

Standard probably bottom half Championship. Been sat in the car trying to get out the car park for about an hour and no sign of moving (there was a Lionel Ritchie concert at the arena next door).

Kids asleep in the back of the car. Mrs GB not happy because it’s 11.40 pm and we need to be up early for Disney.

I loved every minute

5.50 a pint of Lager.
Chaps were about a dozen from Brighton,Lancing and Sompting.
Plus me from my manor.

BBH dominated the fixture,but could not score.
Proper warm day too and Lancings Culver Road is a proper dump.

18/07/26.

Fiver to get in.
No programme
£6.05 Inchs Cider. (Nectar).
Chap count was fairly good and i met an old headhunter from Chelsea FC.
He did not like my comments on 2 of his old mates,but wtf.

Good tight game and a first result.

As friendlies go this was a very good game of football.BBH were,in my view,excellent in closing down on and off the ball,passing,moving and showing their higher league opponents no respect in their play.
It was impressive.
Probably the best friendly i have seen in a long the.

Culvert Road is the Head Quarters of the Sussex FA.

I know.
There are a few better places in the County or Counties (East and West Sussex) i could think of that would be better.
Surrey are players at Dorking in a really nice complex.
Lancings Culver Road is not even a nice football ground.
Crawley,Worthing,Horsham,BBH,Eastbourne Borough,Lewes,Three Bridges,Bognor Regis are for better imo.

With Wycombe now being my local club, a mate and I made another short trip to Adams Park for their pre-season friendly against Pompey.

Wycombe 3–1 Portsmouth

£10 admission, which seemed pretty fair.

I was driving so didn’t have a beer, but I think my mate paid around a fiver for a pint of Rebellion Lager.

Had a chat with quite a few Pompey fans before kick-off. They brought 578 supporters, which is a decent following for a pre-season friendly. They’ve definitely got a few lively characters in their support, but they were very complimentary about the Bees and the way the club is being run.

Overall attendance was 1,820.

As for the football, Portsmouth looked a bit off the pace but of course, it’s only pre-season, so you can’t read too much into it.

Me for one and my old ICF mate who i went to football with 40 odd years ago and a few old Palace faces from back in the day.

Lots of CPFC shirts and lots of kids too.
NSPCC were in attendance doing a collection.

Entertaining game in the Summer evening where i spent the whole game chatting to my mate.
We see all the goals and caught up with mates stuff.
A proper good night i have to say.

Just woken up in my hotel after watching Anderlecht vs Hammarby last night. Europa League game. Brilliant atmosphere made mainly by the Swedes. Chap count off the scale. Will provide a more detailed report when I feel alive and back in blighty later today.
