Non-League Clubs in Crisis

Guernsey have now been allowed to play the playoff final
on their home ground, after talks with the league and
Peacehaven & Telescombe. 👍
Next Saturday 23rd ?
Winners will play in the Isthmian South East Division.

I guess the Isthmian South East decision is mainly because Jersey Bulls have been allocated to the Isthmian South Central and it was mentioned in an earlier post that the Channel Island clubs would not be in the same mainland league.

Doesn’t bode well for the Championship in 10 years time!

Jersey requested the move i understand because of the travelling from Gatwick to deepest Kent for certain games.

From their Wiki page:

In April 2026, after 79 years as British Airways FC, the club announced that it was to change its name that summer, following a request from British Airways after the company pulled its support in 2024.On 28 April 2026, they won their last match of season 13-0 home to Hilltop F.C.. On 16 May, the club announced their intention to pull out of the Combined Counties Football League.

So I guess if Guernsey win their play off they will have the same issue next season

I am pleased your mate is alright and that is the most important thing here.
There is no actual tunnel at Littlehampton and all the players and officials have to walk past those muppets/asbos who congregate behind the goal with their drum, beers and low intellegence.
Its not a great place to watch football at this level and behind closed doors is the best outcome.
Littlehampton are a proper crap club.

No apologies to any Bee who follows them either.

Just one of those clubs at this level who can annoy the hell out of you.
Their fans are a handful and have caused a fair bit of grief over the years.
They are generally not liked in these parts wheras Bognor Regis,Chichester,Worthing United,Arundel and Pagham are.
I have experienced Littlehampton as an away fan and i took some stick.
I gave it back though.

If they went bust i would not lose any sleep.
Their behaviour at The Senior Cup Final last year left a lot to be desired aswell.

I went littlehampton bognor earlier in the season.
Thought it might be lively, it was sort of.
Laughable too though

They did not get relegated this season despite finishing in the bottom 4.
The Southern Combination were quite pleased about that i understand.

Sad news VCD Athletic is folding unable to secure a lease found in 1916 gone in two weeks 😩😩
If the chatter this week is correct, the nomadic SE Dons have now secured their own lease (obv at far far higher rent) on the ground and will play there this season in the league VCD would have been in had they kept going.

Just seen this. That is sad situation for such an old club. I believe that they used to be called Gravesend United many years ago.

Then Gravesend and Northfleet.

Non-League Clubs in Crisis

I assume the multiple fans ownership model making decisions as a collective proved to be complete and utter sh*t

Non-League Clubs in Crisis

When I was a kid back in the 50’s a Greenline Bus traveled through Brentford High Street its end destination was Gravesend. I suppose it may have been the name, but there was a certain mystic about it.

On the bright side there was 562 at Hampton Villa V Chertsey Town on Monday.
625 is what I heard.
50% atleast would have been Chertsey.

Non-League Clubs in Crisis

My apologies it was 625.
Hard to say the split but probably 50 50.

Good crowd at Lewes as well.

Sorry going off topic.
Almost a 1000 at the Jersey Bulls Monday starting to capture the imagination of the locals on the island…. Also putting a shift in with players coaching kids and the club being very visible

From Harrow Borough FC -
"It was confirmed before the game that it will be the last season at Earlsmead when copies of a statement from the board were pinned up in the clubhouse. The ground has been sold and Harrow will be seeking to groundshare from the start of next season.
There were a lot of questions being asked amongst those at the game today about the statement, but it’s best to park those to one side for now."

It’s annoying to read, when you know it should be thriving eg in a World Cup year.
We’ve heard kids over there (presumably organised), all through the summer holidays, and the bar is literally the only place to drink for about half a mile.
The Stones relative success being detrimental to other local clubs?

I’ll have to change my location on here…

One of the friendliest and welcoming clubs I have ever visited. And that was the board room!

Kingstonian (8th Tier) were today drawn at home to Leatherhead (7th Tier) in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round, to be played over the weekend of 19th/20th September.

They would need to get through this, and two more Qualifying Rounds, to reach the 1st Round Proper in early November, when EFL Leagues 1 and 2 enter.

I very much hope the Ks lose to Leatherhead in the FA Cup but otherwise wish them well. They look to have made a decent start to the season and knocked out another Tier 7 side, Three Bridges, to set up the tie against the Tanners.

I hope all this Kingston FC stuff is really all about getting the Ks hierarchy to get Kingstonian back in Kingston.

PS - and isn't this just the year for a Leicester v Leatherhead FA Cup rematch.....wouldn't that be great!

What questions ?
What wouldnt they be aware of ?

Ive heard they reckon groundshare at Hendon.
Will be the death of them, just a managed decline really

Non-League Clubs in Crisis

Kingstonian groundshare at Ashford Town which is sad really.

Strange goings on at Ashford Town this week with the captain and assistant manager/coach leaving suddenly.

I have always thought Sunbury should have had a decent level football team. They had Sunbury Park FC in the 1970s who were very good level Sunday team.
