I’m intending to drive from West London to Bournemouth on Saturday instead of taking the train and it’s my first visit to the Vitality Stadium.

Any recommendations on where to park that is relatively free (e.g. street parking) within around 15-30mins walk to the stadium and where there are likely to be a choice of cafes/restaurants to grab a bite to eat, too?

I'd say those two things are incompatible. There's on-street parking, if you get there early enough, but with nothing around, and there's Boscombe with cafés and restaurants but next to no free parking.

I'd agree with that. There is safe, unrestricted parking in the roads to the west of Queens Park, with about a 20 minute walk to the ground. (Anywhere nearer and it might take you an age to get away after the game.) But that's a residential area with little or nothing in the way of shops or cafés. I'd be looking to find somewhere to eat on the way and aim to be parked up by an hour or so before kickoff.

Park halfway between ground and pokesdown station…there’s the Bell pub which is decent and very away friendly and loads of restaurants/take aways etc…lots of free parking and easy to get away from after via back roads up to main rd to m3 etc

Yup, The Bell does a really nice BBQ on match days and there is also a burger van there.
It's right opposite Pokesdown station.
You might get parking up one of the side streets nearby.?
Seaborne car park is just down from Bell, turn at station traffic lights.

Southbourne Grove (high street) is around 30 minutes walk from the ground and has the best selection of cafes/restaurants. Has free street parking close in side streets but a combination of shoppers and Muff supporters mean they fill up fast. But if you get there early for a leisurely pre match lunch you should be ok.

Head to Boscombe, multi storey carpark next to Lidl or get there early and park on the streets around the stadium but you need to be early. FYI Boscombe is a 15 min walk, also if you fancy some lunch i can recommend this place - Tuga Copos - Portuguese, amazing Peri peri Chicken. Was closed last season (Mid Week) but it should be open on Saturday

Been posted before by others. Just bumping.

If you are traveling along the south coast by train, there is rail replacement between Havant and Southampton, not good.

Easiest game to all season for me to get to.

Hour down to Southampton and then on to Pokesdown. 4 cans and in The Bell for 12.

However Bristol City are away at Southampton, so I'll be lucky to get on the train when it reaches Trowbridge.

A couple of seasons ago I parked at King's Park Academy school car park, about a 5 minute walk to the stadium and was £5 I believe. Assume they still offer parking on matchdays.

We've been 'randomly selected' sigh for an ID check and have to pick up our tickets in person at the Vitality tomorrow. I (adult member) can no longer make the trip (long story) and now it appears my son and god son, both Junior Bees aged 15, can no longer go either as I won't be there to pick up the tickets and they don't have any photo ID (except their passports, which I'm not happy about their taking, for obvious reasons if anyone knows teenage boys). Anyone got any suggestions??? Thanks Bees

Spent all morning on the phone to them, no joy. If I'm not there, they won't release the three tickets. Seems a bit harsh given over-14s can go to matches unaccompanied

That's a shame, have you tried the Bournemouth Ticket office. Would they allow a photo of passports?

Turns out you have to be 16 to be unaccompanied at the Vitality, so that's that then!

The curse of modern football….one days clubs like ours and bmuff will have to have a drastic rethink on how they treat loyal fans and also how to get younger fans back through the turnstiles…. if we’re both back in the lower leagues they’re gonna struggle with policies like this

Yes road closures around the M3/J9 area and when they closed the roads there a couple of weeks ago there was very heavy traffic.

It's the slip roads on and off that are closed at the weekend but the north-bound on-slip is permanently closed. Even though it should be fine if you're staying on the M3, there's often really slow-moving traffic.
