London & South East Premier Division 26/27

First round of the new season, this coming Sunday. Opening day fixtures courtesy of @LSEWRL

Dorking vs Ashford already been billed as a 6 pointer for the bottom of the league. Be interesting to see if they do both end up at the bottom, I think both have more then that on offer. For me the London derby between Millwall and Hammersmith could be the tie of the weekend.
First results of the new season

Wins for Aylesford & Bromley, while Ashford also won in what some have suggested may be the bottom of the table clash against Dorking.
Real surprise result was Hammersmith putting 5 past Millwall. Millwall have brought in some serious talent over the summer and to lose at home to newly promoted Hammersmith is the surprise of the day. Hammersmith have been building a useful squad over last couple seasons and back to back promotions may not be beyond them.

Not our league any longer, but trouble at last year rivals Dartford?

Today’s results;
Another impressive victory for Newhaven & Sutton start the season with a victory. Hammersmith continue to impress in their first spell at tier 5. Bromley held to a surprise draw against Eastbourne, while Dorking and Millwall also play out a draw.

This coming weekend sees only 5 fixtures. The only other side to so far have 2 wins from 2, Hammersmith, are not playing. Nor are last weekends opponents, Worthing. Be interesting to see how both Millwall & Eastbourne get on against each other, I'd suggest that be the game of the weekend.

Top of the table clash fixture between Bees & Hammersmith….. too early to call it a title decider…. But a big game!! Both sides undefeated and high scorers.

41 goals in 5 games can’t be good for the league, if several teams get battered every weekend. Can it? With umpteen divisions and levels, I’d expect to see a more even range of games and results.

I don’t think it’s the norm. Last week saw most games pretty standard results. Just the way the schedule falls sometimes. Don’t think anyone suspected Ashford to get much against Sutton, let alone putting 5 past them. Considering how difficult Aylesford were to break down last season, I’m amazed we scored as many as we did. Funny how results sometimes just pan out.

As a rule, I’d say the attacking options at most clubs are more plentiful then defenders. Arguably that includes us.

Watch as next week game against Hammersmith finishes 0-0 😆

Sorry Gunnersbury park as in the Sunday league pitch dog poo and jumpers for goal posts ?

It will be on the Brentford FCCST Sports Hub pitches, so 4G, full barriers, hardstanding, dugout and floodlights.

Still the worst ground in the division but similar to the Middlesex FA facility is Northolt

This weekend will be the acid test, win and I'm confident of very good things this season...

Blimey! Has that all popped up in the last couple of years, since I last walked through the park? Or, I haven’t been there for longer than I thought…

It’s still the most basic of all the grounds will visit this season…. But it is also quite impressive in its own way. Understand that sounds contradictory. 😆

It's been there for a while, located in the lower park, nearer to the Gtech, so probably easy to miss

Today’s results:
Newhaven continue their strong start to the season. Good wins for Bromley & Barking. Sutton just nudge the intriguing game against Eastbourne. Worthings victory over Millwall complete this weekends results.

Barking play Millwall this coming Wednesday for a rare midweek match.

Still long way to go yet this season, but today’s victory over Hammersmith means we are the only side now to remain with 💯 % win record. But still many twists and turns to go yet.IMG_0163.jpeg

Was a rare midweek game this week, with Barking winning 2-0 in the East London derby against Millwall. Was a fiery encounter with 4 bookings throughout the game. Hopefully some extra lead in those Barking players legs, who we play tomorrow.

South coast derby between Newhaven & Worthing could be game of the week, while the South London derby between Bromley & Sutton could be tasty too. Millwall, Ashford, Aylesford and Eastbourne, will all feel this weekend is a good opportunity to get some points on the board before the FA Cup break. Hammersmith, I expect to bounce back with a vengeance against Dorking.

Draws for Bees, Newhaven & (surprisingly) Hammersmith. Bromley squeeked it against Sutton and remain the other league team undefeated.

The league table as we head into the FA Cup weekend. Bees remain top, equal points with Bromley who are the only other side to be undefeated.IMG_0796.jpeg

No League fixtures this weekend, all league sides are in the FA Cup. Couple of all London & South East Premier Division ties - Bromley/Sutton, Hammersmith/Eastbourne, Millwall/Ashford and of course Bees at Dorking. Our first trip of two to Dorking within a couple weeks, as we visit again for the league fixture on the 11th October.

Note to any possible attendees, that the KO is always a rather strange 3:30 at Dorking.

Good set of results all round…. Hammersmith losing, Sutton losing, and Barking & Bromley taking points off of each other. Good results allround.

Shows that almost everyone can take points off of each other.

Early into the season but overall the league our ladies are in seems to be much more balanced this season.

London & South East Premier Division 26/27

It’s quite interesting that 6 of the leagues 12 sides are all on 7 points.

London & South East Premier Division 26/27

Even at this early stage it looks like a 2 horse race for the title between us and Bromley...

London & South East Premier Division 26/27

This weekends fixtures. Lots of FA Cup action, including Bees at Worthing. Winners of this weekends fixtures, make it to the FA Cup First Round proper. Bromley vs Reading looks the most compelling fixture.

But there is two league fixtures too. Be interesting to see how managerless (at the moment) Dorking who are in 11th place, get on away to 10th place Aylesford.

Today’s results:
Dorking win for the second game in a row, maybe the change of management has turned their season around. Good victory for Ashford too in the league.

In the FA Cup, most of our league sides won their bouts - Barking, Bromley, Millwall & Hammersmith. Newhaven despite having us put 8 past them last weekend, only lost 1-0 away to Dulwich of the National League, which is good going.

Updated table.
After couple of decent results the last couple weeks, both Dorking & Ashford have shot up the table.
Hammersmith Worthing & Sutton, all have games in hand though.
