Change of Bag policy at the Gtech

Took a decent sized bag (over the limit) and another smaller bag (both for my son). Stewards very friendly and no issues at all.

Around a 10-15 minute wait at the bag drop/collection point after to get the pram. Could be an issue for a sold out game.
There were over 13,000 there today. And only 200 in a 1,700 away end. So probably only another 20% in the home end...

Sneaked in this dog poo bag, with hat, glasses, 500ml bottle of water (vodka🤪) and two nugs of dog excentnfound on the way to the ground to make it more authentic. Worked a treat, stewards in East stand didn’t bat an eyelid.View attachment 68154

I saw a number of fans in the West Stand with bags that were clearly bigger than the stated size.

I didn't risk it as it would just be my luck to be stopped.

The queue to collect the bags after the game was about 100 long when I left.

Good job it was not an 8pm kick off.

This is refreshing !!

Everyone else going down in size
Afc Wimbledon however

Based on supporter feedback this summer, we are increasing the size of permitted bags to the following maximum dimensions: length x width x height - 40 cm x 30 cm x 15 cm // 16 in x 12 in x 6 in.

We will continue to offer reasonable exemptions to those with bags containing items for young children and those who need to bring medication or related medical requirements (a medical exemption certificate is available by emailing [email protected]). Purchases made on matchday from the club shop are also permitted, with a valid receipt.

If they are going to deny entry to people who have just bought replica kit from the store and asked for a bag, then I admire their unswerving commitment to crowd safety.

However, if bags from the club shop are going to be allowed in, despite being larger than A4 size, it seems tricky to interpret this as anything other than a money grab by the club.
I cannot see it being a line in the accounts. It’s a pittance snd certainly more trouble than it’s worth. I see no financial skullduggery and take the club at its word.

Very sensible! That size more than fits under a seat and is still easy enough to search on entry.

That's about A5 (148 x 210mm apparently).
I can't speak for Villa but Liverpool away was A5 bags only last season and it was strictly enforced. One of our group was turned away with an A4 bag.
