Any train deals to be had, or has everything already gone through the roof to accommodate half of Surrey going to Old Trafford for a 3.00 kick off?
Currently saying £114 off peak return on AvantiAny train deals to be had, or has everything already gone through the roof to accommodate half of Surrey going to Old Trafford for a 3.00 kick off?

Will you be staying in an hotel?Random one, I'll be flying in but will have luggage as staying a few days. Does anyone have experience of the bag storage places? Seems Manchester Piccadilly is quite expensive (£15?), are the companies around town with cheaper prices reliable etc?
Night before in Airbnb way outside town, so need place for my bag on match day. Will you be staying in an hotel?
£5 for bag storage at MUFC... apparently they get a lot of tourists...not you I may add.Night before in Airbnb way outside town, so need place for my bag on match day.
Try Stasher or Excess Baggage Left Luggage to book online.Night before in Airbnb way outside town, so need place for my bag on match day.
Try Stasher.com , you can usually store bags in Premier Inns even if you aren't staying thereRandom one, I'll be flying in but will have luggage as staying a few days. NoTickets on sale yet?
Agree with the sentiment marking Bryan out the game isn't going to get you to and from Manchester. Will need to put our best LB from a defensive standpoint on Mbuemo as he is undoubtedly Manure's best attacker imo.
And the most successful on pastures new of those we have sold in the past couple of years. Class act and a Brentford Great.
Is that to monitor #cans on the train? If not then start a pre-match thread. Will need to put our best LB from a defensive standpoint on Mbuemo as he is undoubtedly Manure's best attacker imo.

Walk (an hour ish) or walk and tram from Trafford Bar stop…don’t even consider anything elseRecommendations for getting back to Piccadilly, wait with the masses at OT tram stop or is there a better way?
Yep and one of the tram lines doesn’t come from anywhere near OTTrafford Bar is 15-20 minutes isn’t it?
ive walked it twice or maybe three times. its a long way to be fair! deffo two cannerRecommendations for getting back to Piccadilly, wait with the masses at OT tram stop or is there a better way?

I have done it walking and tram and also tried picking up a taxi halfway.Recommendations for getting back to Piccadilly, wait with the masses at OT tram stop or is there a better way?
... hello mate....my son and I always walk down towards media city in Salford Quays after the game...the trams are much easier to get on from there..it's about a 15 walk when you come out the away end....the trams from media city all go to Piccadilly Train station.Recommendations for getting back to Piccadilly, wait with the masses at OT tram stop or is there a better way?
Get on the buses outside the ground, will drop you off and then short walk to PiccadillyRecommendations for getting back to Piccadilly, wait with the masses at OT tram stop or is there a better way?
Assuming you are talking about a train from London, there are at least three different suggestions in the posts above, have a look through those.Anyone seen a decent deal. I'm struggling to find anything north of £140
Post match shuttle bus serviceGet on the buses outside the ground, will drop you off and then short walk to Piccadilly
Thank you that answers my question in post 33.Post match shuttle bus service
Following Manchester United men's first team home fixtures, 14 post-match shuttle bus services will operate as a 'load and go' service starting from Chester Road, outside the Ford garage at the junction with Throstles Green.
The buses will travel directly to the city centre and customers will alight at Deansgate-Castlefield, Portland Street and Piccadilly Gardens.
Well researched, I have booked 2 tickets same journeys £33.25 each with cards, thanksAs mentioned earlier in the thread. Direct EUS - MAN trains all showing at £114.00, the standard off-peak day return.
However, time on the scenic train to Birmingham and the creative inspiration of the English countryside have resulted in what we believe to be the most #thriftcorner slow return London to Manchester day return on 28 November:
Out: £14.00 Advance Single
London Euston: 08:46 - Crewe:10:56 (WMT)
Crewe: 11:16 - Manchester Piccadilly: 12:28 (Northern)
The 09:46 with same itinerary but an hour later also £14:00
Return: Two separate tickets
£5.40 Advance Single
Manchester Piccadilly:18:44 - Warrington Bank Quay: 19:16 (Transport for Wales)
£29.50 Advance Single
Warrington Bank Quay: 19:30 - London Euston: 21:33 (Avanti)
Total price: £48.90 (no Travelcards nor discounts)
There are cheap options if you are happy to change but yes Avanti are annoyingly expensive.Going with my wife and making a full day out of it, so ponied up a bit for direct trains:
7:33 EUS - 9:44 MAN
20:14 MAN - 22:57 EUS
£136 total for 2 people with a Two Together railcard
There is basically no cheap option, and from there it's a game of picking how much you're willing to pay for your preferred departure and journey times.
Yeah, we love Manchester generally, our favourite English city break thanks to the long list of food and drink places we really like or are keen to try. Will head straight to a favourite bakery in the morning (either Pollen or Companio) and hit a couple of many great breweries / pubs / beer bars / cocktail bars throughout the day and night. There are cheap options if you are happy to change but yes Avanti are annoyingly expensive.
Enjoy your day out - you're certainly making a full day of it with the timings you've picked.
Prepare yourself for some light mockery from some of the regulars for mentioning bakeries and cocktail bars on a football trip ... but it's your day out, you enjoy it!Yeah, we love Manchester generally, our favourite English city break thanks to the long list of food and drink places we really like or are keen to try. Then added bonus this time of year as we can do the Christmas markets
