Phillips was substituted in the second half after a clash of heads with the hosts' striker Matt Harrold.

Really good to see him make a point of coming over to the Bees fans at the final whistle today. In fact he got closer than any of our own players.

Apparently also admitted at least 4 Sarfend players offside for their 2nd goal. Pity Danny de Vito didn't notice...

We didn't put him under any pressure, though; I thought he's very League 2. He still has that strange walk/run and we'll run rings around him on a decent pitch.

Mark was very good at what he did but, like many others has limitations and is probably playing at his correct level. Craig may not have been at his best yesterday but would take him over Phillips any day

I'd imagine he'd be behind Leon in the #NewBrentford pecking order!

Bit harsh to say he was better than TC, I'd imagine if he was facing Barry Corr and having balls pumped in his direction for 90minutes he would have suffered aswell

Decent League 1 player too - coped much better with the step-up than Bennett. Given that he missed his entire first season at Southend through injury and with Osborne breaking through, it was probably the correct decision to let him go though.
