PR disaster

How did Tony Flood manage to get this information out of Greg Dyke when the official website, quite rightly, said nothing.

I think Greg should have answered no comment to the whole thing. There was meant to be a press imbargo on this, wasn't there?

Perhaps he expected those comments to be released tomorrow, rather than today.

It's syndicated by Newsquest, both papers owners. This story will appear in the print version of the Richmond & Twickenham Times tomorrow.

Why should anyone in Croydon be seriously interested in this article? :fishing:

Still no further news on the O/S as yet. No mention of permission to talk to Tranmere.

That's what I mean. Dyke should have kept quiet to the media or at least show some consistency.

Because he was interviewed for the Palace job?

The article quotes him having 'talks' with Birmingham previously !
I assume this is a printing error

I didn't call him an oik and a jury would only need to look at him and go within six feet of him to clear me!

:D Does this character ever go and sit in the Paddock on matchdays? There have some right funny smells down there recently :nono:

Whoops ! Sorry about the 2 previously erroneously posted messages.
In answer to Mark ... I'm thinking about it, whilst up a ladder .. Will get back later, for what is worth ;) ;)

I'm disappointed in Martin Allen, if the report is true, when it states he couldn't see fit to carry on for the extra year with the budget he had previously.

Having said that I'm glad the proverbial ball appears to be rolling again and we can get some closure on this soon, hopefully!

Getting used to messages of such importance not being blasted out first on the official website.

I dont like the plastic glasses they serve on matchdays....rubbish atmosphere too !

The Griffin is better by far....

Im sure GD could have done with your advice during his final days at the BBC...he would still be there if you had had his ear

MA saw that we had no PR when he arrived and again when he left! He was the onlything in between and has given the club creditability.Unless GD and BU get this right BFC will be a laughing stock.Who would want to come here with all the skint hype.Another bad move BU.

I'm curious as to why you think the 'skint' part is hype. It's also ridiculous to say that no-one will want to come here because we are being honest about our financial situation. The problem is that the present BFC Board and the BU Board are having to clear up the mess of many years when BFC has been left to go to hell in a handcart by the BFC Board. Perhaps if some of our former directors had spent less time swaggering about and a bit more time doing some solid financial management, we wouldn't be in such a parlous state now.

Messrs Rogers, Herting and White in particular have a good deal to answer for in my book.

White jumped ship before a pen was put in his hand to sign the "whitewash"........no fool he when it comes to looking after his own dosh whilst poncing around quite happily leaving some of us poor sods to be writing out cheques to try and help clean up a chunk of his mess.

It is to Bees United's everlasting shame that Rogers and Herting were allowed to stay on the BFC board following the takeover. More principled individuals than these two would have stepped down and if they wanted to retain their perks then I would have thought that some deal could have been done in return for their loans staying in....an associate directorship or something. I was actually ready to pay off Rogers loan last December/January to get him out of the way and to give the Bees United ownership a flying start but was told by Messrs Burgess and Bourke that some deal had been done whereby the Rogers/Herting loans were locked in for a period of years and that they couldn't be paid off before Altonwood. I always said that I would never ever sit around a table with Rogers and Herting and one of my serious disagreements with Bees United is that Messrs Burgess and Bourke think that Herting and Rogers are wonderful and erm........I don't.
