If at the end of season he decides to hang up his boots (and what better way to finish your playing career than by helping Brentford to their first cup win and a top 5 finish) I could see him becoming part of the coaching team and start working towards his badges, if he isn't already.

Ironically I think he was being ultra cautios and that lead to the broken arm. Just before him Dan Burn (?) places one hand on the advert and leaps over. Jordan takes more care, use two hands, but one slips off and there isnt time to cushion his fall

You're not getting confused with the Humerous bone are you? Radius is lower arm. Shouldn't affect his range of movement unless he's absolutely fecked his elbow.

How does compensation work for players injured on international duty? I assume we must have received a fair amount for Milambo injured playing for Holland U21s and again here for Hendo. Do they pay the wages while they are out? That must be a fair whack for Hendo.

unless there is a special clause for really silly accidents!!!

I'm not sure vaulting an advertising hoarding, after the game had finished, would count.

Surely it can't be about how they get injured, simply who they are representing at the time? If a player got injured in a coach crash on international duty the club would get compensation yes? It all helps with our finances...

That would not be considered a self inflicted injury and the operative time covers the accident so his wages are paid for under the scheme.

Injured on international duty will be covered by Englands PA insurers, whether that includes cover for falling over a hoarding post match I’m not so sure

FWIW on this trip he'd still be covered if it had been in said fountain.

The football players are covered whilst under the control of the respective member association for official international “A” matches of the “A” representative team, including all playing, practising, training, training matches, travelling and time spent away. Club protection starts from the moment the football player starts their journey from their home or football club address to report for duty with their association and ends at whichever of the two following options occurs first: at midnight local time on the day they return to their home or football club from international duty, or 48 hours after leaving the “A” representative team, including direct unbroken travel (“operative time”).

For the avoidance of doubt, each and every match and/or tournament protected under this programme only has one “operative time”. The “operative time” does not cease during short period interruptions, especially not during protected tournaments (e.g. short trips by football players to their home address).

There does come a time in your life when you stop climbing over hoardings and go around.

But as I said earlier I’m gutted for him. But if we do somehow manage to win this he can go up to collect his medal Mick Jones style (you kids will have to take my word on this!)

I thought that process began towards the end of last season. His main influence this season will be felt in training?

Every first team player will be on more than the coaches and Henderson will be towards the top of the salary range.

I guess we could convert his contract to some kind of pay as you play deal mixed with coaching but I'd expect a player on a standard contract to have the most influence on the pitch, not off it.

Hmm, it wouldn't surprise me if he was having at least as much influence in guiding/cajoling the younger players than in his actual playing contributions.
