The presenter didn't sound like the most informed. But I did look into our form for those last 10 games previously and we still placed 14th in that period. So a drop yes but not one to ring alarm bells over. Most mid-table clubs will go through a run like that at some point but there weren't real areas of concern during that run outside of Thiago being run down.

I would say we also limped through games like Leeds away where the midfield 3 that started also had to complete 90 mins as there were no options on the bench

So the areas of concern are ares that have been addressed this year. Thiago has a backup who can take the pressure off him and keep him fit, while we've added to our midfield ranks and depth in general.

But that's the sort of detail that neutrals gloss over.

I know we're biased on here, but I think any predictions for us to go down say more about that person's internal bias about us being a small team. As there is very little evidence we'd struggle this year compared to our contemporaries.

CW is a back up on paper, but in reality he is going to push Thiago the whole way to start games and he will get goals.

We had the deeepest and strongest squad we ever had last season, this year it has just grown more.

Anyone who things they beat this squad by "finding us out", is an internet football monkey.

Year in, year out they 'find us out'. But never do. One day they will.

Year after year the bigger clubs waste 10's of millions on players they have partially scouted and wait for Muff, Brentford and Brighton to fail. Year after year they sell off their crappy players at a loss realising it didn't quite work, whilst Brentford and Brighton keep on using the info nobody else has. What exactly are they "working out", its not the way we play because that has changed immeasurably over the years from what we played in league 2, in he last 2 seasons in the Championship, to the the first couple in the EPL, to what we do now.

You only have to read the article on Ben Ryan in today's Telegraph to get a sense of this. This is a guy who led Fiji to Olympic sevens gold against the odds. “Being the underdogs suits my personality and wanting to prove people wrong, whether that’s my gingerness or how I grew up. At Brentford, it is trying to show that joined-up thinking and good people can create an environment which can compete with the top teams."

Confusing BFC with Brentham CC (and by extension Dave McCulloch with Mike Brearley) should be in the "Signs we are a BIg Club" thread.
But then I'm biased, having been born in Brentham Way, just down the road from the Brearley household.
