From what I've quickly read online there are quite a few who agree with your assessment, saying a reasonable price would be 25 mill. Don't forget though, in this price range, you're not paying necessarily for what a player is currently worth, you're paying for what he's potentially going to be worth. If during the Pro League play offs he scores 10 in 12 games, well then the fact we got in first will have many applauding.

Mate, no disrespect intended but I'd take our recruitment teams opinion over your viewing of a self proclaimed "very limited" video on youtube.

Lets wait until we see him play a few times.

It’s obviously a lot, but Villa paid almost that for Watkins, a championship level striker at the time. We're likely to get almost twice that for Toney too.

Be interested to know if we are just paying instalments at the current exchange rate when they fall due, or if we are buying some or all of total € fee at a fixed rate to manage risk.

I Understand your point - and perhaps I was a bit harsh with what I said.
I still however stand by my point that Nusa seems like a much more exiting prospect than Thiago (despite different positions - and thus hard to compare) - I still believe that he has potential however, To replace Ivan Toney (A player that has been so significant and integral for us) needs to hit the ground running (In my view anyway)
Again, I do concede that perhaps I was being slightly narrow minded when I suggest what I suggested based on YouTube videos - but it does seem a little weird that we would sign a player like him for that amount of money (especially for us) - who clearly needs some significant improvement to be a noteworthy striker for us in the prem.
I dunno...

It is a lot of money. And I'm not gonna lie - never heard of him till an hour ago!

However - bit of perspective - this is less money than we sold Watkins for, who was untested at top division level. And I think this fella has the potential to be better, hence the large outlay.

This is a real statement of intent - I think it guarantees Toney is off for big money this summer and also sets the ball rolling for what I think will be our biggest transfer window ever.

I'm delighted we've signed a proper Toney replacement rather than a fast winger, where the intention seemed to be to convert Schade to a central striker. That was obviously an assumption rather than a definite plan, but I was never convinced by it, based on Schade's goal record.

Whatever it is, we have the opportunity to lock-in the current forward rate to eliminate that risk.

IMHO we'd probably lock in today's rates. Business generate don't like unnecessary risks.

Almost an identical age, profile, background etc. Pretty scarily similar actually.

Hopefully this move works out better than that one did!

With respect to Brugge, when you have a period of bright young talent coming through and you know they’ll be looking to move on to bigger things, you’ve got to make it count whilst they are still hot £££

Ajax did that, and they’re a massive club.
